Vacation Preference. (a) Preference in the selection and allocation of vacation time shall be determined within each work unit on the basis of service seniority. Where an employee chooses to split their vacation, their second choice of vacation time shall be made only after all other employees concerned have made their initial selection.

Vacation Preference. Use of vacation accruals is by mutual agreement between the employee and the supervisor and preference of vacation shall be given to employees according to their seniority in their department as reasonably as possible unless otherwise provided in the supplemental sections of this Memorandum of Understanding.
Vacation Preference. Where the employee schedules vacations and there are two or more employees requesting vacations at the same time, the employee with seniority shall be given first preference to only one of any period of vacations.

Vacation group, for the purpose of vacation preference, is a group of employees who are required to cover for one another during vacation periods. An employee will be entitled to receive their vacation in an unbroken period. Employees wishing to split their vacation will exercise seniority rights in the employee's first choice of a vacation period. Seniority will prevail in the second vacation period, but only after all other "first choice" vacation periods have been posted. Seniority will also prevail in further choices in the same manner. Regular vacations will have priority over vacation time carried over under the provisions of Clause 18.4 (Vacation Carryover).
Vacation Preference. A. All vacations shall be taken with the prior approval of the Police Chief. Whenever possible, vacation preference will be based on seniority within rank and assignment. Vacation shall be scheduled so as to meet the operating requirements of the City and the preference of the employees. Denial of vacation leave shall be for just cause and not mere inconvenience.
Vacation Preference. Vacation preference as indicated on the vacation schedule referred to above shall be in strict order of seniority.
