Graduate Assistants and Instructional Student Assistants are non-exempt employees. CSU policy limits their work assignment to no more than 20 hours in a week during periods of instruction. The full-time workweek is a work week of forty (40) hours in a workweek of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Please refer to Article 26.6-26.11 regarding overtime provisions.

The number of hours worked in excess of 20 hours per week may not normally total more than 73 hours per semester/50 hours per quarter/27 hours per 6 week summer session.

Please list. An Associate In (in lieu of TA) may serve as a "senior TA" for a department/programs' TA training activities, as a TA consultant or Language Screener for the English Language Program for International Instructors, or under an Academic Instructional Improvement grant. Use of this title for any other program requires prior approval by the ▇▇▇▇ of the Graduate Division. Appointment to this title requires evidence of extraordinary merit in teaching and scholarship and prior relevant teaching experience.
