PERSONAL NEEDS LEAVE. Note: The following Letter of Understanding suspends Article Special Leave and Article Other Leave for the duration of the collective agreement. Personal Needs Leave provides employees with paid leave to protect against income loss when specified personal circumstances prevent the employee from reporting to work. Each employee is expected to use Personal Needs Leave responsibly and with a view towards minimizing time away from work. To ensure the equitable treatment of all employees and to ensure the correct application of this benefit, employees must provide proof of the need for the leave and the quantum of the leave when applying for said leave. Personal needs leave is not meant to supplement school breaks, sick leave, maternity, paternity, parental, adoption or parenthood leave. An employee shall be credited with thirty (30) hours Personal Needs Leave credits upon commencement of the first year of service and upon commencement of each continuous year of service thereafter. All unused Personal Needs Leave credits shall be carried over from one year to the next and shall be accumulated to a maximum of one hundred and fifty (150) hours. An employee on leave of absence without pay, under suspension, except a suspension with pay pending the determination of criminal charges, or on education leave shall not earn Personal Needs Leave Credits. An employee is not eligible for Personal Needs Leave with pay for any period during which the employee is on leave of absence without pay or on educational leave or under suspension. When an employee has terminated service with the employer, accumulated Personal Needs Leave credits shall be banked and made available to the employee upon return to service with the employer, provided such return is within five (5) years of leaving.

PERSONAL NEEDS LEAVE. A. All employees who are eligible to participate in IMRF shall be eligible for 2 (two) personal leave days per year.

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.

  • Personal Necessity Leave 13.2.1 A maximum of seven (7) days of sick leave may be used by an employee in any school year for personal necessity, for the following purposes:

Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments.   • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Leaves of Absence SRD includes the time an employee is on "leave", if the employee is on a: • personal leave of absence with pay; or • personal leave of absence without pay which is less than 15 working days; or • personal leave of absence without pay which is more than 15 working days and which was started on or after April 15, 1993 -- only that portion which was taken during the period from April 15, 1993 to August 31, 1997. • prepaid leave of absence, under the enhanced leaves of absence policy dated April 16, 1993, greater than eight (8) weeks.

  • Paid Personal Leave A. During the first full pay period in each January, full-time employees on the payroll as of September 1, 2011 will be credited annually with paid personal leave credits at the following rate: Scheduled Hours per Week Personal Leave Credits 37.5 hours per week 37.500 hours 40.0 hours per week 40.000 hours Such personal leave may be taken during the following twelve (12) months at a time or times requested by the employee and approved by his/her Appointing Authority.   • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Long Term Personal Leave 2. Extended Maternity/Parental Leave/Parenthood (or their equivalent)

  • Family Medical Leave (a) An employee is entitled to family medical leave in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
