PAY FOR TRAVEL ON BEHALF OF EMPLOYER. 29.01 Where an Employee is required to travel on behalf of the Employer, appropriate arrangements will be made between the Employer and the employee.
PAY FOR TRAVEL ON BEHALF OF EMPLOYER. Where an employee is required to travel on behalf of the Employer, he shall be paid as though were at work for all hours traveled. For the purpose of this Article, hours traveled includes a one (1) hour check-in period at airports (two (2) hours for flights originating outside the Yukon and the bus depots, or train stations, as well as a one (1) hour check-out period at each overnight stopover and at the final destination. Hours traveled also include time spent waiting for connecting flights, trains or buses, but is exclusive of overnight stopovers. The Employer will make every reasonable effort to restrict travel outside of Hay River that requires absence from home beyond a period which includes two (2) weekends. When an employee is absent from home on a Designated Paid Holiday or day of rest and does not work, he shall be compensated in accordance with Article or Article as if he had worked his normal daily hours on that day. In the event that circumstances beyond his control prevent an immediate return to his place of employment, the employee shall be entitled to no loss of regular earnings for time not worked on regularly scheduled shifts as a result of duty travel, and shall receive pay in accordance with Article upon the resumption of duty travel after any delay. Under no circumstances shall an employee be entitled to pay under this Article during avoidable delays, stopovers or diversions of travel arising at the employee’s request.

ARTICLE VACANCIES, JOB POSTING, PROMOTIONS, AND TRANSFERS Every vacancy for positions expected to be of more than six (6) months’ duration and every position shall be posted on the Union notice board. The job posting shall state the job classification, rate of pay, shift, and required qualifications of the job. An employee who wishes to apply for a position so posted shall do so on or before the closing date as advertised on the posting.
PAY FOR TRAVEL ON BEHALF OF EMPLOYER. Where an employee is required by the Employer to perform escort duties, the Employee will be paid eight (8) hours pay at the employee’s regular rate of pay, and four hours pay at time and one half for each hour period the employee is on escort duty. Accommodations while on escort duty are provided by the Employer. Where meals are not provided, the Employee will be paid per day for meals for each day on escort duty. Conferences When an employee is required by the Employer to travel to a conference outside of Chesterfield Inlet, the Employee will be paid eight (8) hours pay at the Employee’s regular rate of pay for each day at the conference, or days spent travelling to and from the conference. Accommodations while on conference are provided by the Employer. Where meals are not provided, the Employee will be paid seventy dollars ($70.00) per day for meals for each day at the conference, or days spent to and from the conference.
