Notification of Absence due to Sickness. Employees absent from work due to illness must notify their immediate supervisor at least one hour prior to their normal reporting time in order to be eligible for paid sick leave, unless the employee can show in writing why prior notification was impossible.

Notification of Absence due to Sickness. Employees must notify the Employer if they are to be absent due to personal illness at least two (2) hours in advance of the start of their shift if they are scheduled on the day shift on Monday to Friday, or four (4) hours in advance of the start of their shift if they are scheduled for an evening or night shift or on the day shift on Saturday or Sunday, unless such notification is impossible. Where such advance notification is impossible, the employee must provide the Employer with as much advance notification as is possible.
Notification of Absence due to Sickness. (a) In order to qualify for sick leave a full-time employee must notify his supervisor or, in his absence, a designate at least two (2) hours prior to the beginning of the employee's shift in the case of day shift and four (4) hours prior to the beginning of the employee's shift for evening and night shifts. Where advance notice is not possible due to an accident or sudden illness, the employee, if possible, will contact his or her supervisor the1st day of absence. Where an employee is medically unable to personally call, they should have someone else call the Supervisor for them. The employee should advise the Supervisor where possible of the anticipated duration of the absence. The Company reserves the right to require proof of illness by medical certificate or such other form of proof as the Company may require before sick leave is granted.
