HIRING AND PROMOTION. 39.01 No employee shall in any way be penalized for refusing to accept a promotion or transfer.
HIRING AND PROMOTION. It is the intent of the District that job openings other than entry level job openings shall be filled by promotion of qualified District employees. For all entry level job openings, the District shall be free to recruit both in-house and outside simultaneously.
HIRING AND PROMOTION. New employees shall be hired at the hiring rate in effect for the particular classification to which the appointment is made. The date of hire shall be the salary anniversary date. In the event that the department head cannot recommend advancement, the employee will remain on the same salary step until advancement is earned, at which time a new anniversary date will be established. The department head will advise the employee as to the reason he/she is not advancing. If the employee submits a written request as to why he/she is not advancing, a written response will be given by the District.

(a) The Employer shall post a notice in the editorial department for seven (7) working days for all job vacancies or new positions in the editorial department, except editor and news editor. It is understood that the posting of positions excluded from the bargaining unit is for information purposes only and that the remaining provisions of this agreement shall not be applicable to such postings.
HIRING AND PROMOTION. 18.01 The Employer shall fill bargaining unit job vacancies from within the bargaining unit before hiring new employees, providing employees are available with the necessary qualifications to fill the vacant position. The Employer shall notify the Union when vacancies occur.
HIRING AND PROMOTION. 17.01 A newly hired employee will be considered to be on probation for a period of sixty (60) days worked calculated from the most recent date of hire. During this probationary period the employee may be disciplined or discharged for a lesser standard than just cause.

HIRING AND PROMOTION. New applicants who seek employment as a part-time firefighter shall complete the appropriate written application and submit it to the Tallmadge Civil Service Commission. All tests shall be administered by the Tallmadge Civil Service Commission, which shall calculate the results from these tests and shall forward them to the Fire Chief, who shall in all cases make the final selection. In filling the position of Full-Time Firefighter, members of the Association shall be preferred, all qualifications being equal. All promotions shall be filled in as expeditious a manner as possible.
