Civil Service Commission. Under the PELRA, employees in a recognized bargaining unit may choose to grieve the disciplinary action through their contract provisions. In such cases, the Civil Service Commission will not conduct a hearing nor enter into the process. Similarly, an employee who chooses to appeal a disciplinary action to the Commission waives his/her right to file a grievance through a contract.
Civil Service Commission. 28 The City and the F.O.P. recognizes the responsibility of the Civil Service Commission for 29 administering a merit system of employment, adopting rules and regulations, and exercising 30 other personnel responsibilities in accordance with law. 31 32 SECTION 13.8 - MANAGEMENT’S RIGHTS CLAUSE NOT SUBJECT TO GRIEVANCE 33 OR ARBITRATION 34 The Employer is not required to bargain on subjects reserved to the management and direction of 35 the governmental unit except as they affect wages, hours, terms and conditions of employment, 36 and continuation, modification, and/or deletion of an existing provision of this agreement. A 37 bargaining unit member or the F.O.P. may file a grievance based on the collective bargaining 38 agreement. 39
Civil Service Commission. If Civil Service determines that it has jurisdiction, there shall be no further appeal under the grievance procedure. The matter will be subject to a Civil Service Settlement Conference and if not resolved at that level shall proceed to a formal Civil Service Hearing.
Civil Service Commission. It is expressly understood that the Cambridge Civil Service Commission shall have no authority or jurisdiction related to the discipline of bargaining unit personnel.
Civil Service Commission. Together with the decision, the Board may provide recommendations 4 to the employee on how they can improve on weaknesses that are identified. The Board may also 5 provide recommendations to the employee’s chain of command on how to assist the immediate 6 supervisor and employee in addressing any performance related or work relationship concerns.
Civil Service Commission. 48.1 The parties acknowledge and recognize the establishment of the Civil Service Commission for the Fire and Police Departments of the City of Southfield and its authority as provided in 1935 P.A. 78, as amended, except as modified in this Agreement.

If the City Administrator does not resolve the grievance to the satisfaction of the employee, the employee may file an appeal with the Civil Service Commission within ten (10) days after the City Administrator’s written decision. Thereafter, the resolution of such appeal shall be handled in accordance with Hastings City and the rules of the Civil Service Commission promulgated pursuant thereto.

If the City Administrator's disposition is not satisfactory and if the Union believes the matter should be carried further, then the grievance may be submitted by the Local President to the Civil Service Comn1ission, in written form, within fourteen (14) days of the Administrator's disposition, and will be heard by the Commission at its next regular meeting provided the appeal is received by the COlnn1ission seven (7) days before said n1eeting. The Civil Service Conln1ission's decision, approved by a l11ajority of the voting members of the Comn1ission, shall be considered a final decision of the Con1n1ission and the grievance may not then be presented to arbitration.
Civil Service Commission. Section 1. It is agreed by both parties to abide by the Rules of the Civil Service Commission and the City Code of the City of Alton, Illinois. It is agreed that, if there is a conflict between this Labor Agreement and the Rules of the Civil Service Commission or the City Code, this Agreement shall supersede.
