DRIVERS' LICENSES. If a Driver loses its driver’s license (and immediately informs the Company) for a reason other than outlined in Article 15.03 (k), the employee will not be subject to discipline and will be placed on layoff, or be offered a vacant Sorter position and be paid the equivalent rate for their seniority.
DRIVERS' LICENSES. 39.1 All regularly assigned members of Engine, Truck Companies, Rescue and Service Squads, and EMS Field Units shall be required to possess, at a minimum, a "Restricted Class B Firefighter" driver's license. Members assigned to the Bureau of Equipment shall be required to possess a Class A license. All other qualified drivers, including officers, aides, inspectors, investigators and firefighters who may be assigned, detailed or required to drive Department vehicles shall be required to possess, at a minimum, a valid Class C license. 39.2 An employee who does not possess the appropriate driver's license may be assigned to non- driving duties at the discretion of the Department.

DRIVERS' LICENSES. Employees who are required by law shall maintain a valid Michigan commercial driver’s license (CDL). Employees regularly required to drive a district vehicle to various work sites during their shift and all Maintenance Department employees must maintain a valid Michigan automobile driver’s license. The Employer shall pay the cost of such Michigan automobile driver’s license for all such employees. All employees whose classification or work group assignment currently requires licensing to perform work of that classification must maintain such licensing as long as required by law or required by the employer. The employer's licensing requirement shall be rational and reasonable. Employees whose work groups or classifications experience changes in licensing requirements will be given up to six (6) months immediately after the change or until the next licensing opportunity, whichever is later, to obtain such licensing. This shall not be construed to mean that employees will be terminated if they do not possess a license, unless there is no available position for which they are qualified. Maintenance employees shall have their CDL licenses paid for by the district. If an employee is required to operate a motor vehicle to perform their duties, the employee must maintain a valid driver’s license. Employees are required to notify the district if their driver’s license is expired or suspended for any reason.
DRIVERS' LICENSES. Where the Employer requires an employee to obtain a drivers licence other than a Class 5 drivers license: (a) The employee shall be granted leave with pay pursuant to Master Agreement Clause 20.7 to take required courses approved by the Employer and medical examinations required by the Motor Vehicle Branch to obtain the higher license. (b) The employee shall be reimbursed pursuant to Master Agreement Clause 20.7 for the full cost of courses approved by the Employer, examination fees, licensing fees and all other expenses required by the Motor Vehicle Branch to obtain the higher license. (c) Leave of absence with pay will be granted pursuant to Master Agreement Clause 20.6 for examinations required by the Motor Vehicle Branch to qualify for the higher license. Subject to operational requirements, the Employer will make available an appropriate vehicle for the road test. (d) This Article does not apply to employees who require drivers' licenses other than a Class 5 in order to qualify on competitions for a lateral transfer or promotion.
DRIVERS' LICENSES. 19.1 The parties recognize that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has established regulations for employees required to have a Commercial Driver’s license (CDL). All employees in applicable positions are expected to obtain and maintain a commercial driver’s license with such endorsement as necessary to operate vehicles assigned to their work unit. Employees new to a position requiring a CDL shall be allowed up to six (6) months to obtain a CDL permit and up to one year to obtain the license. Both dates start from the date of hire into the position requiring a CDL. Failure to either obtain or maintain the required CDL may be grounds for discipline up to and including termination of employment. The City will provide: 19.1.1 An opportunity for each employee to develop the skill required to obtain the license. 19.1.2 Reimbursement for fees to obtain the license and endorsements, provided that if the employee incurs additional charges because they fail any part of the exam, those charges shall be the employee's responsibility. 19.1.3 The required medical/physical examination, provided that, at the city option, the city may reimburse the employee for a physical examination by a physician of the Employer’s choice. An employee wishing to use their own physician when the city offers a paid examination with its own physician will not be reimbursed for the examination. 19.1.4 Use of a city vehicle to take the practical/driving portion of the examination, on city time, provided that the city may require the employee demonstrate proficiency in operating the vehicle in a trainee capacity before allowing the employee to use the vehicle in the driving test. 19.1.5 All employees required to maintain a Commercial Drivers’ License shall be subject to all rules and regulations issued by the federal government including requirements for drug testing. 19.2 For those employees who must drive vehicles to carry out their job as determined by the Employer, if any employee has their driver’s license (or CDL for those employees required to have a CDL) revoked or suspended for one hundred twenty (120) days or less, then the Employer will make a reasonable effort to reassign the employee to jobs not requiring driving. If such reassignment is not practical, the employee shall be suspended without pay. DRIVERS' LICENSES. An employee will not be discharged due to loss of his driver's license. The Union and the Company will meet to discuss movement to alternate work but no other employee will be laid off due to such move, and the employee moving shall be placed at the bottom of the departmental seniority list for work preference and layoff. If the employee regains his license prior to job bid time, he may exercise his seniority rights in his own seniority group.
DRIVERS' LICENSES. The actual cost of a newly required or newly required upgrade of a driver's licenses, required by the employer or any other legitimate authority, shall be borne by the employer.
