Working Out of Rank. A member who is temporarily required to perform the duties of a higher ranking position, and who performs the responsibilities of the higher ranking position for more than two (2) hours in a workday, shall be paid at the rate of pay equal to that paid the higher ranking position for all hours worked in the higher ranking position.

Working Out of Rank. Any member who is designated by the Chief to perform the duties of a Sergeant shall be paid at Step "A" of the Sergeant's wage rate for all hours during which the member performs such duties.

A Lieutenant assigned to duties normally assigned to his superior shall be paid at the superior's rate of pay for each and every hour so worked with no necessity to accumulate any number of hours before being paid at the higher rate.
