Waste Disposal and Recycling. Concessionaire shall gather, sort, and transport all garbage, refuse and recyclable materials daily to the City's designated holding area along routes established by the City and in a manner that eliminates spillage and avoids damage to City property. Garbage, refuse and other debris shall be placed in non-broken, non-punctured, new 3-mil trash bags or such other garbage containers as may be required by the City suitable for transportation to a designated bin or compactor in the manner and at the time and places specified by the City. Concessionaire shall participate in the Airport’s waste recycling program. Concessionaire shall place all garbage, refuse and recyclable materials in the appropriate containers at the City designated holding area, taking all reasonable measures to reduce the amount of waste it generates by requiring suppliers to remove nonessential over wrap, containers and other packaging, and to use recyclable materials for essential packaging whenever possible. The City currently provides containers for recycling the following: (a) corrugated cardboard; (b) magazines; (c) newspapers; (d) tin and steel cans; (e) glass that is clear, brown, or green; (f) batteries, and (g) high grade office paper, including letterhead, typing paper, colored paper, photocopy paper, and computer paper. Recyclable materials, including food waste, should be placed into the appropriate containers. Except for the recycling of batteries, Concessionaire shall ensure that the following materials are not deposited in City recycling containers: (i) Hazardous Substances, (ii) cans or other containers used to store paint, oil, solvent, cleaning fluids, or other Hazardous Substances; and (iii) un-clean paper, including paper that is soiled with food, paper with plastic covers or windows and wax coated paper. In addition, the City may establish other specific requirements concerning the storage and transport of waste and recyclables in the Airport’s Rules and Regulations.
Waste Disposal and Recycling a) Trash receptacles and dumpsters are to be used for normal household type garbage only. Recyclable materials shall be placed in the appropriate bins, consistent with labeling. Flammable or hazardous material, wood, metal, construction debris or large objects shall not be placed in receptacles or dumpsters.
Waste Disposal and Recycling. Lessee shall be responsible for gathering, sorting, and transporting all solid waste, compostable materials, and recyclable materials from Common Areas and Sublessee Premises to the Administration’s designated receptacles (e.g., compactors, dumpsters) at holding areas designated in Administration’s Guide to Waste Management (Attachment ) along routes established by the Administration and in a manner that eliminates spillage and/or contamination and avoids damage to the Airport Terminal Building. Lessee shall provide for the complete, proper, and adequate sanitary handling and disposal of all solid waste. Lessee shall ensure Sublessees do not pile boxes, wooden pallets, broken equipment, cartons, crates, drums or the like on the outside of any Sublessee Premises or areaways of the Airport Terminal Building, including chute rooms. Lessee shall participate in the Administration’s Airport-wide trash disposal and recycling program pursuant to the Administration’s Tenant Directive 003.1 and the Administration’s Airport Community Tenant Guide for Trash and Cardboard Disposal (Attachment , respectively, incorporated by reference). In addition, Lessee shall cause all Sublessees that generate food waste to participate in the Administration’s Food Waste Composting Program (Attachment ). Restaurants and all other food waste generating Sublessees shall source-separate their food waste from other refuse and recyclable materials for collection and transport to appropriate receptacles by Lessee or its service provider. “Source-separation” for the purposes of this section shall mean the separation of waste into categories at the generation stage. Lessee shall ensure that the following materials are not deposited in the Administration’s cardboard compactors or compost containers: (i) Hazardous Substances, (ii) cans or other containers used to store paint, oil, solvents, cleaning fluids, or other Hazardous Substances; (iii) un-clean paper, including paper that is soiled with food, paper with plastic covers and wax coated paper; and (iv) plastic, glass, or other materials commonly considered “recyclables.” No hazardous waste is accepted in Administration’s waste stream; Lessee is responsible to ensure that all batteries, light bulbs, or other hazardous materials are disposed in full compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, requirements and Administration policies.
