Hazardous Material definition

Hazardous Material means any substance, material or waste that is classified, regulated or otherwise characterized under any Environmental Law as hazardous, toxic, a contaminant or a pollutant or by other words of similar meaning or regulatory effect, including petroleum or any fraction thereof, asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls and radioactive substances.
Hazardous Material means anything defined as a hazardous waste, hazardous substance, toxic substance, hazardous material, pollutant, or contaminant or similar term under an Environmental Law
Hazardous Material means any substance, element, chemical, compound, product, solid, gas, liquid, waste, by-product, pollutant, contaminant or material which is hazardous or toxic, and includes, without limitation, (a) asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls and petroleum (including crude oil or any fraction thereof) and (b) any material classified or regulated as “hazardous” or “toxic” or words of like import pursuant to an Environmental Law.

Examples of Hazardous Material in a sentence

  • Tenant shall comply with and shall cause all Tenant Parties to comply with all Environmental Laws and other Laws pertaining to Tenant's occupancy and use of the Premises and concerning the proper use, generation, manufacture, production, storage, handling, release, discharge, removal and disposal of any Hazardous Material introduced to the Premises, the Building or the Property by Tenant or any of the Tenant Parties.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS: All Laws governing the use, storage, disposal or generation of any Hazardous Material or pertaining to environmental conditions on, under or about the Premises or any part of the Project, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980, as amended (42 U.S.C. Section 9601 et seq.), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended (42 U.S.C. Section 6901 et seq.).

  • Tenant shall also remove such other Tenant Additions as required by Landlord, including any Tenant Additions containing Hazardous Material.

  • Notwithstanding anything contained in this Article 34 to the contrary, Tenant shall not have any liability to Landlord or obligation to indemnify Landlord for any conditions existing, or events occurring, or any Hazardous Material existing or generated, at, in, on, under, or in connection with the Demised Premises, Building, or Common Areas prior to the Commencement Date (or any earlier occupancy of the Premises by Tenant), except to the extent Tenant exacerbates the same.


More Definitions of Hazardous Material

Hazardous Material means and includes any hazardous, toxic or dangerous waste, substance or material, the generation, handling, storage, disposal, treatment or emission of which is subject to any Environmental Law.
Hazardous Material means (A) any “hazardous substance” as defined in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980, as amended, (B) any “hazardous waste” as defined in the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, as amended, (C) any petroleum or petroleum product, (D) any polychlorinated biphenyl and (E) any pollutant or contaminant or hazardous, dangerous or toxic chemical, material, waste or substance regulated under or within the meaning of any other Environmental Law.
Hazardous Material means (i) any petroleum, petroleum products, by-products or breakdown products, radioactive materials, friable asbestos-containing materials or polychlorinated biphenyls or (ii) any chemical, material or substance defined or regulated as toxic or hazardous or as a pollutant or contaminant or waste under any applicable Environmental Law.
Hazardous Material means any hazardous material, hazardous waste, hazardous substance, hazardous constituent, toxic substance, pollutant, contaminant, asbestos, petroleum, petroleum waste, radioactive material, biohazardous material, explosive or any other material, the presence of which in the environment is prohibited, regulated, or serves as the basis of liability, as defined, listed, or regulated by any applicable federal, state, or local environmental law, ordinance, rule, or regulation.
Hazardous Material means any and all pollutants, toxic or hazardous wastes or other substances that might pose a hazard to health and safety, the removal of which may be required or the generation, manufacture, refining, production, processing, treatment, storage, handling, transportation, transfer, use, disposal, release, discharge, spillage, seepage or filtration of which is or shall be restricted, prohibited or penalized by any applicable law including, but not limited to, asbestos, urea formaldehyde foam insulation, polychlorinated biphenyls, petroleum, petroleum products, lead based paint, radon gas or similar restricted, prohibited or penalized substances.
Hazardous Material means any substance, product, waste, pollutant, material, chemical, contaminant, constituent, or other material which is or becomes listed, regulated, or addressed under any Environmental Law, including, without limitation, asbestos, petroleum, and polychlorinated biphenyls.
Hazardous Material means any material that, because of its quantity, concentration, or physical or chemical characteristics, poses a significant present or potential hazard to human health and safety or to the environment if released into the workplace or the environment. "Hazardous materials" include, but are not limited to, hazardous substances, hazardous waste, and any material that a handler or the administering agency has a reasonable basis for believing that it would be injurious to the health and safety of persons or harmful to the environment if released into the workplace or the environment.
