Supervisor. A. Within ten (10) business days from the occurrence of the matter on which a complaint is based, or within ten (10) business days from his/her knowledge of such occurrence, an employee shall file a formal written grievance. Three copies of the departmental grievance form shall be completed by the employee stating the nature of the grievance and the remedy requested from his/her departmental Management. The employee shall submit two copies to his/her immediate supervisor and retain the third copy.

Supervisor. Supervisor means an individual employed by the Agency having authority in the interest of the Agency to hire, direct, assign, promote, reward, transfer, furlough, layoff, recall, suspend, discipline, or remove employees, to adjust their grievance, or to effectively recommend such action, if the exercise of the authority is not merely routine or clerical in nature but requires the consistent exercise of independent judgment. This definition constitutes the meaning for labor-management relations purposes but does not apply for purposes of classification and pay determination.

Supervisor. The Parties encourage Employees and their supervisors to attempt to resolve problems through free and informal communications prior to filing formal grievances. Within twenty (20) days of the occurrence, or of the grievant's knowledge of the occurrence, the formal grievance shall be presented in writing to the Employee's supervisor, who shall arrange for a conference between him/her self, the grievant, and the AR to take place within five (5) days after receipt of the grievance.
