JURY DUTY AND APPEARANCES IN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS. 1. The Board shall grant leave of absence with pay to any employee summoned for jury duty or required to attend any legal proceedings by reason of subpoena or notice of witness. An employee on such leave shall pay to the Board any sums received for jury duty or witness fees, exclusive of travelling costs or meal allowances.

The written request must be received by the respective supervisor five (5) working days in advance of the leave of absence date unless such notice is impractical due to lateness of subpoena being received by the teacher.

A teacher on such leave shall pay over to the Board any sums received for jury duty or witness fees, exclusive of parking costs, day care costs, travelling costs and meal allowances.

Any fees received by the teacher shall be paid to the Board. If the proceeding is one to which the teacher is a party, leave of absence shall only be granted if the teacher bears the cost of a Teacher Teaching On Call.

A Teacher on such leave shall pay over to the District, any sums received for jury duty or witness fees, exclusive of parking costs, traveling costs or meal allowances.

G.26.1 A teacher who is subpoenaed for jury duty, to act as a court witness, or to serve on a coroner's jury, shall continue to receive full pay while so engaged, providing the teacher turns over to the employer that money considered to be wages, exclusive of expenses, for the jury or witness duty on the days they would normally be working.
JURY DUTY AND APPEARANCES IN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS. (PL) The Board shall grant leave of absence to a teacher who serves as a juror or as a subpoenaed court witness other than on their own behalf. The Board shall pay such a teacher the difference between their normal earnings and the payment they receive for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for travelling, meals or other expenses. The teacher will present proof of service and the amount of pay received.

An employee on such leave shall deposit with the Board proof of service and pay over to the Board any monies received for jury duty, witness fees, etc., but not monies received for expenses.
