Outside Employment While on Leave Clause Samples
The "Outside Employment While on Leave" clause defines the rules regarding an employee's ability to work for another employer while they are on leave from their primary job. Typically, this clause restricts or prohibits employees from engaging in paid work elsewhere during periods such as medical, parental, or other types of leave, unless they have received prior written approval from their main employer. For example, an employee on sick leave may not take up a temporary job with another company without permission. The core function of this clause is to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure that leave is used for its intended purpose, such as recovery or family care, rather than for pursuing alternative employment.
