Long Term Disability Income Insurance a. Long term disability insurance will be provided at no cost to all unit members working a minimum of seventeen and one half (17 1/2) hours per week. Employees who are totally disabled as determined by the insurance company will receive two-thirds (2/3) of their monthly salary to a maximum monthly benefit of seven thousand dollars ($7,000). Benefits will begin on the later of the ninety-first (91st) calendar day of disability or at the end of their sick pay. Benefits will continue for as long as the employee remains disabled, with a maximum duration as defined by Age Discrimination and Employment Act – B (ADEA-B) (Extended). Please refer to the insurance contract for this benefit duration schedule.
