Accrual of Paid Personal Leave. Any employee (other than casual) who, having had at least three month's service with the employer, is entitled to accrue for each completed four week period of service, an amount of personal leave of 1/26th of the nominal hours worked by the employee during the four week period. In the first year of service an employee’s personal leave will be calculated on a weekly pro rata basis. During any subsequent year the employee will accrue ten working days on their anniversary date. If the period of sick leave as prescribed above is not taken in any year, such portion as is not taken shall, provided an employee remains in the service of the employer be cumulative from year to year.

  • Amount of Paid Personal Leave (i) Paid personal leave is available to an employee, when they are absent:

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Personal Leave With Pay Full-time employees who are eligible to accrue sick leave may use up to a maximum of six days personal leave with pay per year provided that such days shall be charged against the employee's currently accrued sick leave. This leave is non-cumulative.

  • Personal Leave Without Pay Leave of absence without pay may be granted by the College for legitimate personal reasons.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Accumulation of Personal Leave (i) In any year, unused personal leave accrues annually at the rate of 80 hours less the number of hours of sick leave, compassionate leave and carers leave taken.
