SICK LEAVE / Medical Certificates and Reporting. 10.1 Leave with pay will be granted for the purpose of obtaining necessary medical or dental treatment or on account of injury, illness or disability to the extent hereinafter provided, except that sick leave with pay will not be granted to teachers while on a leave under Articles 9.2, 11, 12, or 14. For pregnancy related disabilities, teachers on a maternity leave of absence shall accept Supplemental Unemployment Benefits as outlined in Articles 11.6 or new clause 11.3 (depending on effective date of the leave) of this Agreement and subject to the provision of medical proof of such pregnancy related disability, are eligible for sick leave benefits outside the period of time that Supplemental Unemployment Benefits are available, including periods both before and after delivery. Pregnancy related disability means a medical condition arising during the pre-delivery, childbirth, or recovery from childbirth, which renders a teacher medically disabled and unable to perform her duties.
SICK LEAVE / Medical Certificates and Reporting. 10.1 A teacher who qualifies for extended disability benefits as provided in the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan shall not receive additional salary and shall not be entitled to additional sick leave benefits after ninety (90) consecutive calendar days of disability.
