Return to Former Class. An employee who is returned to a former class following promotion, transfer or demotion due to layoff, shall receive that step of the range which he/she would have received had he/she never left the former class.

Return to Former Class. As an alternative to appointment from any employment list, any current regular employee, upon recommendation of the appointing authority and approval by the Chief Administrative Officer or designee, may be appointed without further examination to a position in any class in which regular status had formerly been acquired, or to any related class on a comparable level with the former class.
