Employer Seniority definition

Employer Seniority means the accumulated uninterrupted service the employee has with the Employer.
Employer Seniority. Time in continuous employment with Winona County.
Employer Seniority shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service with the Employer as measured from the employee’s record date of hire by the Employer in the operation covered by this Agreement. “Employer Seniority” for any employee who transfers into the unit after the effective date of this Agreement shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service as measured from the employee’s most recent date of hire by the Employer, provided that such date of hire shall not pre-date any break in service occurring before the transfer. “Classification Seniority” shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service within his/her classification as measured from the date the employee first entered the classification at this unit. Classification Seniority will be used for purposes of layoff, recall, shift preference, overtime, and job bidding, except to the extent specifically provided otherwise in the following Articles: Job Posting (Article 15), Lay Off and Recall (Article 16), and Hours of Work and Overtime (Article 20). In the event two (2) or more employees are hired on the same day, their seniority shall be decided by lot.

Examples of Employer Seniority in a sentence

  • Employer Seniority shall mean an Employee’s continuous length of creditable service with an Employer.

  • The order of layoff due to a RIF as well as the return to State service shall be by Employer Seniority date.

  • If multiple applicants are equally qualified, then Employer Seniority shall govern the applicant selection for vacancies within the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement.

  • Employer Seniority shall be applied to the selection process whenever two or more employee applicants who are seeking promotion to a higher-paid job classification are equally qualified to fill the vacant position and are the most qualified applicants for the position.

  • If no volunteers are available, then the supervisor will designate Employees capable and qualified to perform the work based on reverse Employer Seniority, and mandatory overtime shall be rotated in a fair and equitable manner.


More Definitions of Employer Seniority

Employer Seniority means the length of continuous service in a career or term position (including probationary period) with an Employee’s current Employer. Where two (2) or more Employees have the same seniority dates for determining job rights, then seniority shall be based on the highest number of the last four digits of the Employee’s social security numbers, with the highest number being 9999 and the lowest number 0000. Except as otherwise provided by applicable law, seniority shall be broken under the following circumstances:
