Purpose of Seniority. The purpose of seniority is to provide a policy governing work preference, layoffs and recalls.
Purpose of Seniority. Seniority as defined by (a) and (b) shall apply to the following purposes:
Purpose of Seniority. The District will use seniority as the criteria for the purpose of Employee layoff and recall.

Purpose of Seniority. The principles of seniority shall prevail. These principles shall be used to resolve disputes involving, but not limited to, layoff, recall from layoff, bidding for jobs and vacations. Overtime shall be distributed among employees as equally as possible, as per 6.1.4.
Purpose of Seniority. Police officers shall be allowed preference according to seniority on all sections of this Agreement which specifically designate seniority as the determining factor.
Purpose of Seniority. Agency Seniority shall be used for the purpose of bidding on all openings covered by this Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Purpose of Seniority. Sergeants shall be allowed preference for use of and scheduling of vacation time, work schedule selection, request for time off, first choice for extra duty among sergeants, and for first choice of approved hire-back according to seniority. Providing first choice for hire-back opportunities shall be the responsibility of the sergeants. Any ordering in by the City will be done by reverse seniority.
