Distribution Provider definition

Distribution Provider means the entity that provides and operates the “wires” between the transmission system and the end-use customer. For those end-use customers who are served at transmission voltages, the Transmission Owner also serves as the Distribution Provider. Thus, the Distribution Provider is not defined by a specific voltage, but rather as performing the distribution function at any voltage.**
Distribution Provider s Interconnection Facilities shall mean all facilities and equipment owned, controlled or operated by the Distribution Provider from the Point of Change of Ownership to the Point of Interconnection as identified in Appendix A to the GIA, including any modifications, additions or upgrades to such facilities and equipment. Distribution Provider's Interconnection Facilities are sole use facilities and shall not include Distribution Upgrades, Stand Alone Network Upgrades or Network Upgrades. Distribution Service shall mean the wholesale distribution service provided under the Distribution System shall mean those non-ISO transmission and distribution facilities owned, controlled and operated by the Distribution Provider that are used to provide Distribution Service under the Tariff, which facilities and equipment are used to transmit electricity to ultimate usage points such as homes and industries directly from nearby generators or from interchanges with higher voltage transmission networks which transport bulk power over longer distances. The voltage levels at which distribution systems operate differ among areas. Distribution Upgrades shall mean the additions, modifications, and upgrades to the Distribution Provider's Distribution System at or beyond the Point of Interconnection to facilitate interconnection of the Generating Facility and render the transmission service necessary to effect Interconnection Customer's wholesale sale of electricity in interstate commerce. Distribution Upgrades do not include Interconnection Facilities. Effective Date shall mean the date on which the GIA becomes effective upon execution by the Parties subject to acceptance by FERC, or if filed unexecuted, upon the date specified by FERC.
