University Promotions Committee. (a) The University Promotions Committee (UPC) consists of the Xxxxxxx and Vice-President (Academic) as Chairperson, eight (8) members to be chosen by the President and eight (8) full-time faculty members holding the rank of Full Professor, distributed as follows:  Two members from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences  Two members from the Faculty of Public Affairs  Two members from the Faculty of Engineering & Design  One member from the Faculty of Science  One member from the Sprott School of Business The latter eight members shall be elected by a vote of the tenured and tenure track employees of the respective Faculties. Nominations shall be coordinated by Senate. All eligible candidates shall be informed of the dates and deadlines for this election. Faculty members chosen by the President are not eligible to run for these positions.

Applicants for promotion may not serve on the committee. A quorum at all meetings will consist of five members, plus the chairperson. Decisions on recommendations will be reached by simple majority, with the chair voting only in the event of a tie. Committee members shall not vote when applicants for whom they have prepared recommendations are considered. Votes will be taken by secret ballot. The decision will be minuted, but not the vote count. The committee may request to meet with applicants, their or with anyone who has submitted recommendations. Deans or Directors who have prepared recommendations must appear before the Committee if requested. The applicant may appear before the University Promotions Committee, and may be accompanied by advisors. The applicant shall be informed of when witnesses are to appear before the University Promotions Committee, and shall have the right to be present, and to question evidence presented. The applicant may enlist the aid of the Union or Nothing in this article shall be construed as requiring a member to appear before the Committee. Minutes of proceedings, the names of witnesses heard, and copies of evidence received, shall be available to members of the Committee and to the applicant. The Committee’s recommendations will normally be sent to the President by December, with copies to applicants, Departments, Deans or Directors, and the Union.

  • Negotiations Committee H.3 At all negotiations meetings with the Employer representatives for a renewal of this Agreement, the Union may be represented by a negotiations committee composed of five (5) bargaining unit members. No deduction from the regular pay of such Employees will be made for attendance at such meetings with the Employer’s representatives held during the Employee's regular working hours. The Union has the right to have up to an additional five (5) members, including Union Officers, on the Negotiating Committee at no cost to the Employer.

  • Local Professional Development Committee 1. The Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) shall be established to oversee and review professional development plans pursuant to ORC 3319.22.

  • Joint Commercialization Committee As of the Effective Date, the Parties have established a joint commercialization committee (the “Joint Commercialization Committee” or the “JCC”), composed of up to [ * ] representatives of each Party, to monitor and discuss the Commercialization of Products at the operational level. Each JCC representative shall have knowledge and expertise in the commercialization of products similar to Products. The JCC shall in particular:

  • LABOR-MANAGEMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE Section 1. The Employer and the Federation agree to the establishment of Labor- Management Relations Committees for Divisions represented by the Federation. The purpose of these Committees is to discuss any item of concern, including safety, to either party and to improve communications between the Employer and the members of the bargaining unit.

  • Professional Development Committee There shall be a Professional Development Committee composed of at least two (2) representatives of the Association and an equal number of representatives from the Hospital. Each party may have alternates to replace a member from time to time.

  • Joint Research Committee The Parties hereby establish a committee to facilitate the Research Program as follows:

  • LIAISON COMMITTEE 8.01 A Liaison Committee shall be established which shall meet on an informal basis at the call of any of the parties signatory hereto, to discuss matters of mutual interest pertaining to the Project and/or this Agreement, with the objective of promoting and maintaining beneficial relations and cooperation between the parties, and of ensuring the achievement of the purposes of this Agreement. The Liaison will meet at least twice per year.
