Schools may schedule conferences up to three hours on one day. Individual schools choosing to split their conference hours into two days should ensure they do not occur within the same week. Conference hours shall be documented and approved by the Superintendent of Schools or Designee. Snow Days Up to ten (10) snow days are accumulated in the school calendar through extended work (stockpile) days and will not be made up. If more than ten (10) days are missed due to weather related conditions, the Calendar Committee will make a recommendation to the Superintendent of Schools from the following days: 2nd Semester Professional Development days; 2nd Semester Spring Break days; additional days at the end of the school year calendar. INTRODUCTION: You are invited to participate in a research entitled “Year 12 school students’ understandings of an effective English lesson in Nur-Sultan”. You have been chosen to participate in the study because you are 18-year-old a secondary school twelve grade student with the experience of learning English in classroom. This form is part of a process known as informed consent and allows you to understand this study before deciding whether or not to take part. TIME INVOLVEMENT: You will be asked to participate in a discussion with 4-5 other students from your class. This will take approximately one hour. The discussions will be audio recorded, with your consent. The discussion will cover topics such as how confident you are about your English, what do you like an English lesson and what would you like in a good English lesson.

  • PROFESSORS AND TEACHERS A professor or teacher who makes a temporary visit to a Contracting State for a period not exceeding two years for the purpose of teaching or conducting research at a university, college, school or other educational institution, and who is, or immediately before such visit was, a resident of the other Contracting State shall be exempt from tax in the first-mentioned Contracting State in respect of remuneration for such teaching or research.

  • ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS A. Pursuant to Act 379 of the Public Acts of 1965, the parties hereby agree that teachers shall have the right freely to organize, join, and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation and other concerted activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly-elected body exercising governmental power under cover of law of the State of Michigan, the Board undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any teacher in the enjoyment of any rights conferred by Act 379 or other laws of Michigan or the Constitutions of Michigan and the United States; that it will not discriminate against any teacher with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Board, or his/her institution of any grievance, complaint, or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. The Association likewise agrees that it shall not intimidate or coerce any teacher in the exercise of his/her rights set forth herein or under law.

  • STUDENT DISCIPLINE AND TEACHER PROTECTION A. The Board recognizes its responsibility to give all support and assistance to teachers with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom. Whenever it appears to the teacher and a representative of the Board that a particular pupil requires the attention of special counselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians or other professional persons the Board will take steps to relieve the teacher of responsibilities with respect to such pupil.

  • New Teacher Orientation The Association shall have the opportunity to participate in the opening in-service day including speakers for the sole purpose of greeting new faculty members and informing them of the opportunities available to them through joining their professional association.
