Seniority Layoff Recall Employees will be laid off or reduced to part-time when necessary in reverse order of seniority providing the senior employee possesses the required qualifications and demonstrated ability to perform the necessary job functions after a thirty (30) day familiarization period. SENIORITY AND LAYOFF Section 1. Seniority means the length of continuous service in a bargaining unit position since the last date of hire.
SENIORITY AND LAYOFFS 11.01 Seniority of employees shall be recognized within their respective trade and job classifications. New employees shall be placed on the seniority list upon the completion of their probationary period and their respective seniority shall be dated back to the date of their most recent hiring.
SENIORITY 1. Except as provided in this article, “seniority” means an employee’s aggregate length of service with the employer as determined in accordance with the provisions of the Previous Collective Agreement.
Transfers and Seniority Outside Bargaining Unit No employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without the employee's consent. If an employee is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit, the employee shall retain seniority acquired at the date of leaving the unit, but will not accumulate any further seniority. If such an employee later returns to the bargaining unit, the employee shall be placed in a job consistent with the employee's seniority. Such return shall not result in the layoff or bumping of an employee holding greater seniority.
Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.
Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.
Seniority Tie Breaker The Employer and the Union agree that where there is a tie in seniority between two or more Employees, a determination of seniority shall be made in the following manner:
– SENIORITY AND JOB SECURITY 9.01 (a) Seniority and service for full-time employees shall be defined as the length of continuous service with the Home since the date of last hire, subject to Article 9.03-9.05, 9.17, 9.18 and 11.10 and any other related provision of the Collective Agreement.
