School Business Leave. 21.11.1 With the approval of the principal/supervisor, employees shall be excused from their regular duties in order to organize or participate in events which provide educational service to the School District. School Business Leave. 1. The District may approve absence without loss of pay for attending meetings, representing the school district, or other such absences for the benefit of the school district.

School Business Leave. Each teacher who is requested by the district to perform professional responsibilities in the name of the district outside of the regular place of assignment (the school building) such as, but not limited to, North Central Evaluations for other districts, grading for the Trumbull County Board, or representing the district at county-wide meetings, shall be able to do so upon the approval of the Superintendent and acceptance of the assignment by the teacher but with no loss of personal leave or professional leave.

Principals are encouraged to request two (2) days of absence in each school year for the purpose of visiting other schools for observation, discussion, and related professional interests. Such absences as recommended and approved by the Superintendent shall not entail loss of pay.

Teachers who attend conferences, conduct business on behalf of the school, chaperone students from a group sponsored by that teacher or another teacher, or who are engaged in an activity deemed to be equivalent in importance to executing their daily assignment shall be authorized to schedule such leave as "school business" so long as any of the foregoing reasons for leave are granted prior approval by the Superintendent. In such cases, personal business leave shall not be charged.
School Business Leave. If the principal or teacher’s supervisor determines that a school sponsored activity or professionally related meetings or activity endorsed by the school system requires that the teacher be absent from his or her regularly assigned duties, the teacher will be given a leave of absence with pay for the necessary period. Teachers will be permitted to attend two days of educational meetings pertaining to the teacher's assignment during the time classes are in session. Approval must be obtained from the immediate supervisor and attendance at the meeting will be allowed if it will be of benefit to the District. Every effort shall be made to give ten working days notice prior to the approved absence.
