Private Automobiles. A. Where an employee is required by a Department Head to use his/her private automobile in the performance of County business, he/she shall be reimbursed at the rate established by Nevada Revised Statutes for each mile actually traveled in the performance of such County business. In the event an employee is required to use a passenger vehicle in the performance of his/her job, the County will make every effort to provide a County vehicle for use.

Private Automobiles. 1. Where an employee is required by a supervisor to use his/her private automobile in the performance of County business, he/she shall be reimbursed at the rate as established by NRS for each mile actually traveled in the performance of such County business. If an employee is required to use a passenger vehicle in the performance of his/her job, the County will make every effort to provide a County vehicle for use. In the event the employee is required to transport a client for any purpose the County must provide an appropriate vehicle.
Private Automobiles. Employees may use their private automobile in the performance of Department business upon notice to their supervisor and subsequent approval. Employees using their private vehicle shall be reimbursed at the standard mileage rate as set by the Internal Revenue Service by use of LVMPD 359. The Internal Revenue Service rate will be multiplied by the actual miles traveled in the performance of Department business. The reimbursable amount will be rounded up to the nearest whole cent. No employee shall be entitled to receive mileage payments for reporting to work in a private automobile after the start of the employee's shift because of a court appearance or other Department related duties. The parties agree employees cannot be required to use their personal vehicles while on-duty for department business if they choose not to.

If an employee is required to use a passenger vehicle in the performance of his/her job, the County will make every effort to provide a County vehicle for use. Employees shall not transport clients in their personal vehicles. In cases of extreme emergencies, employees may volunteer to use their personal vehicles to insure the safety of the youth, and only if sufficient County transportation is not available. When there is a question of vehicle safety, operations, or risk related to the use of the employees private vehicle, the employee, at their discretion, may deny the use of their personal vehicle. In the event the employee is required to transport a client for any purpose the County shall make every effort to provide an appropriate vehicle.
