Paid Parental Leave Program. Effective January 1, 2021, a faculty member shall be provided with up to eight (8) weeks of paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child or the initial placement of a child in the xxxxxx care of the employee. Employees may also use their personal accrued leave, unpaid leave, or a combination of paid and unpaid leave so long as the total parental leave period, including the paid parental leave does not exceed a total of six (6) calendar months. Faculty are immediately eligible for these paid parental leave benefits. Paid Parental Leave Program. Consistent with the parties' joint desire to encourage employee health and wellbeing through family bonding, the purpose of this Paid Parental Leave Program is to provide an employee four (4) weeks of salary continuation consistent with FMLA birth, adoption or xxxxxx care placement of a child.
