Length of Work Day and Work Year. 1. a. The work year shall be 185 days. 181 of these days shall be days school is in session for students. One (1) day shall be the day before school starts for students. Three (3) of these days will be used as workshops to provide professional development opportunities for employees. Workshops shall not be used for parent-teacher conferences. These workshop days will be of six (6) hour duration, with a thirty (30) minute duty free lunch.

Length of Work Day and Work Year. The regular workweek will be five (5) consecutive days scheduled Monday through Friday. The regular workday will be seven and one half (7 1/2) continuous hours. If a change in the present schedule is necessary due to a demonstrated need of the system, the employee will be given thirty (30) days notice. This thirty (30) day notice period may be waived or shortened with the mutual consent of the employer and the employee.
Length of Work Day and Work Year. The normal work year should be one day more than the number of school days scheduled for students. Effective July 1, 2007, employees may be asked to work an additional two (2) days prior to the beginning of the school year for students. The District shall seek volunteers first to staff a skeleton crew. If there are not a sufficient number of volunteers, the District may require employees to report in reverse order of seniority. The minimum workday for employees will be four and one quarter (4¼) hours. The maximum workday for employees will be seven (7) hours. If it becomes necessary to change a shift schedule due to the need of the system, the employee will be given thirty (30) days’ notice. This thirty (30) day notice period may be waived or shortened with the mutual consent of the employer and the employee. On scheduled half days for students, employees shall report for their normal shift to assist to clean or participate in professional development or attend to other appropriate duties. All opportunities for extra work hours (overtime) will be awarded on a rotation basis based on seniority. This includes hours available when an early reporting employee is unable to report to work.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND WORK SCHEDULES 22.01 Except for employees subject to a particular work schedule according to clause 22.10, the duration of the regular work week is established at thirty-five (35) hours generally worked between 9:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday.
