Jury Duty or Witness Service. Employees represented by the unit summoned as a juror, or subpoenaed to appear as a witness in cases other than those involving the employee as a litigant, shall be allowed full salary during their required absence from duty. In carrying out this provision, the District shall pay the employee his/her regular salary warrant at the usual pay period. Upon receipt of a summons to appear for jury duty, the employee will present the notice to the Human Resources Office.

  • Paid Jury or Court Witness Duty Leave The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee the difference between normal earnings and the payment received for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for traveling, meals or other expenses. The Employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Time spent by an Employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of her employment, shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay.

An employee will be allowed to retain any compensation paid to him or her for jury duty service.   • Jury and Witness Duty Leave 23.01 Employees who have been summoned to be a juror or witness by any body in Canada with the power to subpoena shall supply their supervisor with a copy of the summons as soon as possible after receipt of same.
