Herbicide Treatment. Herbicide treatment encompasses the treatment of all grass, weeds, vegetation and plant material growing on, along and around concrete medians, curb inlets, inlet openings, gutters, ramps, guardrails, bridge embankments and bridge supports with an approved herbicide to maintain these areas in an attractive and manicured condition. The herbicide treatment will also include the treatment of all expansion joints and cracks located on sidewalks, curbs, concrete medians and paved approaches. No herbicide treatment will be allowed along fence lines and asphalt paved roadway edges. All herbicide used will contain the active ingredient glyphosate (e.g. as in Roundup), applied in accordance with the manufacturer's label directions. The herbicide mixture will contain a colored spray indicator (blue preferable) to mark the areas treated by the contractor. The color indicator will be used to verify application of herbicide treatment. A valid State of Florida Pest Control Operator’s license with Pesticide Application qualified in right-of-way category must be issued in the name of the Bidders Company or the name of company employee. NOTE: Areas designated to be edged will not be treated with herbicide.
Herbicide Treatment. The Contractor shall NOT use any herbicide, poison, fertilizer, or any other chemical or compound on the Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIB), WEDS or monitoring well sites without the expressed written permission of Orange County.

No herbicide treatment shall be allowed along fence lines and asphalt paved roadway edges by the contractor. Herbicide Treatment. As a result of on‐going management, the infestation of non‐native curlyleaf pondweed and Eurasian milfoil has decreased significantly and only very scattered growth of these plants were observed in 2014. At the same time, the growth of non‐native spiny naiad and nuisance tapegrass have become more widespread and increasingly problematic. The herbicide treatment in late June was timed to target all of these plants and provided a desirable level of control. We again recommend a late June treatment to target any remaining areas of milfoil and curlyleaf pondweed as well as problematic areas of spiny naiad with Reward (diquat) herbicide. Problematic areas of tapegrass would be targeted using Reward herbicide and a copper based product (Nautique/Captain/copper sulfate) to increase effectiveness on this hearty species. Treatment areas will be designated in cooperation with the LSIC based on our pre‐treatment inspection(s). Tentative Schedule of Performance: Pre‐treatment inspection early‐mid June Combined Herbicide treatment late June Initial post‐treatment inspection 2‐4 weeks after treatment Additional plant inspections as needed July‐August Late summer plant survey September/OC Algal monitoring June through September Algal treatment June – September (if and as required) Year‐end report December Insurance ACT carries workmen’s compensation, property damage and liability insurance which will remain in effect throughout the duration of this Agreement. A “certificate of insurance” will be provided to LSIC upon request.
Herbicide Treatment. The cost of treatment will be based on the type of herbicide used and the size of the treatment area. For the combined treatment approach described above the cost will be, • $4,300 for the first 15‐acres of treatment (using Reward only) • Additional $190/acre for Reward only • Additional $245/acre for Reward/Copper (i.e. Nautique) This above costs assume that all herbicides will be applied on the same day. A total treatment cost will be approved by the LSIC following the pre‐treatment survey and designation of various treatment areas. Payment for herbicide treatment to be made in full on or before the day of treatment. Algae Monitoring Cost for algal monitoring is $1,020 based on analyses of 12 samples @ $85/sample. Payment to be commensurate with the services performed. Samples delivered to Northeast Labs will be billed directly to the Association.

Herbicide Treatment. All Herbicide Treatment will be performed as stated in TxDOT Standard Specifications – Item 731. Herbicide Treatment is an alternate item listed on Attachment 1 and will only be performed as directed by the Authority.

A valid Commercial Applicator License from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide Certification Office issued in the name of the Contractor’s company or in the name of an active employee in the Contractor’s company. NOTE: Areas designated to be edged will not be treated with herbicide.
