Early College. 1) The faculty role in the oversight of early college programs shall include, but is not limited to:  approval, supervision, and oversight of all co-operating teachers,  course content and curricular matters  evaluation of co-operating teachers,  assessment methodology for early college students, including necessary grading oversight/post audits  site visit(s) – mileage will be paid per the provisions of Article 23  discipline specific input into and participation in professional development to further enhance course content and delivery knowledge of co-operating teachers  education of co-operating teachers on program policies, procedures and any necessary oversight to check for compliance. The degree to which any of these or other necessary responsibilities and oversight occur are largely dependent on the faculty department, division, or other appropriate academic unit and academic administration goals and objectives. As such these may necessarily vary by co-operating teacher and academic program. AFUM unit faculty shall have the right of first refusal to early college assignments. AFUM unit faculty will supervise and provide oversight to any non-unit faculty providing early college supervision. Departments will recommend those faculty to be involved in early college and the number of supervisions. Such recommendations shall be provided to the chief administrative officer who may either approve or modify the recommendation for a compelling reason(s).

Early College. The Early College, described in Florida Statute Section 1007.273,, provides eligible 11th and 12th grade students a full-time Accelerated Pathways Program to take courses at a mutually agreed upon location by the College and the School Districts (e.g., school-within-a-school mode). The preferred location for an Early College is within a school which is geographically isolated from a College Campus or Center (e.g., twenty miles or more from the nearest College Campus or Center). Early College. Students attend classes on campus at OCTC full-time during their junior and senior years of high school. This allows the student to graduate simultaneously with a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree. Tuition is assessed at 1/3 of the KCTCS tuition rate and utilized to provide support services for students. Payment varies by school district. Students must:  Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading, and mathematics.  Pursue an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree at OCTC.  Enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester on campus. Students are encouraged to enroll in a total of 15+ hours per semester in order to complete the associate degree by the end of the senior year of high school.  Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college-level course work and adhere to Early College probationary student guidelines, if applicable.  Maintain a course completion rate of 67%.  Pay associated fees/charges/before the first day of each semester or setup a payment plan prior to the first day of each semester.  Agree to receive secondary and postsecondary support services to aid in program success and completion. This may include enrollment in FYE 100 College Success Strategies.
Early College. High School students, faculty, and staff will have access to instructional and non-instructional resources available on the campus of the College, in keeping with the guiding principles enumerated in Section 3, “Guiding Principles,” of this XXX.

Early College. Program Section 1007.273, Florida Statutes (2021) The early college program is an option for public school students to enroll in a structured high school acceleration program in which a cohort of students is enrolled full time in postsecondary courses toward an associate degree. The early college program must prioritize courses applicable as general education core courses under section 1007.25, Florida Statutes (2021) for an associate degree or a baccalaureate degree. North Florida College encourages students who wish to enroll in college credit courses to concentrate on general education courses. Students who intend to earn an Associate in Arts or Baccalaureate degree should carefully evaluate each course to determine its applicability to meeting degree requirements. College credit courses are defined as those courses that meet requirements for Advanced Technical Diplomas, College Credit Certificates, Associate in Arts, and Associate in Science. Dual enrollment courses may be taken at the College or at the high school site or at any location where college courses are taught, subject to approval by the high school guidance counselor or designee. In addition, eligible secondary school students shall be permitted to enroll in eligible courses regardless of delivery method. Early College. Program (Formally known as Collegiate High School): The Early College Program will serve 11th and 12th grade students for at least one full school year and will provide the opportunity to earn CAPE industry certifications and successfully complete 30 credit hours through the dual enrollment program toward the first year of college for an associate degree while enrolled in the Early College Program. Students participating in the Early College Program are required by Section 1007.273 to enter into a student performance contract, which must be signed by each participating student, the parent, a representative of the school district, and a representative of Indian River State College. The Early College processes are the same to that of Dual Enrollment with the following eligibility requirements.

  • Early Withdrawal Penalty When you open a CD, you agree to keep the principal on deposit with us for the term that you have selected. We will impose a substantial penalty if we permit you to withdraw any principal before the maturity date. The early withdrawal penalty will be one-half (½) the interest that would be due on the CD over the entire term of the CD, regardless of the length of time the funds remained on deposit, subject to the following limits. The minimum penalty is 7 days simple interest. The maximum penalty is 270 days of compound interest. It is possible that all or part of the penalty will be deducted from principal.
