Continuing Contract Employees. All continuing contract employees may be given the option (evaluator approval required) of completing the comprehensive evaluation or focused form evaluation. As per RCW 28A.405.100, continuing employees shall be evaluated with the comprehensive evaluation form at least once every four years.
Continuing Contract Employees. If there is reason to believe that a continuing contract employee is experiencing difficulties related to the Evaluative Criteria, the evaluator shall inform the employee in writing of the nature of the concern and establish a meeting to discuss the matter. Such notice shall only be precipitated by issues which are serious in nature. An evaluator shall conduct at least two (2) observations with written feedback consistent with Section 2, before referring the employee for assistance. At said meeting, the evaluator shall disclose the Evaluative Criteria and Components giving rise to the concern. The employee shall be provided the opportunity to respond to the concern(s). The employee shall have representation from the Association at the meeting. Following the meeting, the evaluator shall inform the employee in writing, with copies provided to the Executive Director of Human Resources and the Association President, either that the concern has been satisfactorily resolved, or that the concern has not been resolved and that the provisions of this section, shall be implemented. If the evaluator’s concerns have not been satisfactorily resolved, an assistance plan will be drafted with the input of the employee and an Association representative. Timelines, specific supports, and dates for formal check-ins with all parties shall be included. Timelines must provide adequate time for growth. A dedicated coach with evaluative expertise will be assigned to the employee to support them through the Intervention Assistance Plan process. Employees may also work with TPEP Coaches, ITCLs, Curriculum Developers, or Instructional Mentors when appropriate. Intervention Assistance shall be implemented prior to any employee being recommended for probation.
Continuing Contract Employees. Personnel on continuing contracts shall receive a formal written summative evaluation no less than every third year. Professional employees whose work is marginal or unsatisfactory shall be subject to formal written evaluation at any time during the school year.
Continuing Contract Employees. The evaluator shall conduct a minimum of two (2) formal observations of not less than a total of sixty (60) minutes in length. At least one (1) formal observation must be conducted prior to January 20. No formal observation shall be less than twenty (20) continuous minutes in length. The evaluator may conduct any number of additional formal observations.

Each observation shall be preceded by a pre-conference and followed by a post-conference. The post-observation conference and the Post-Observation Form (see addendum H) shall be completed no later than five (5) working days following the observation with a copy provided to the teacher. The evaluator will then record evidence on the Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric (see addendum H). Teachers will receive a completed Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric within (15) fifteen working days after the post-conference. Subsequent observations will occur no sooner than (10) ten working days after the teacher receives feedback from the Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric unless mutually agreed upon. Second Observation One (1) thirty (30) minute observation shall be completed prior to the post-observation conference. Each observation shall be preceded by a pre-conference and followed by a post-conference. The post-observation conference and the Post-Observation Form (see addendum H) shall be completed no later than five (5) working days following the observation with a copy provided to the teacher. The evaluator will then record evidence on the Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric (see addendum H). Teachers will receive a completed Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric within (15) fifteen working days after the post-conference. * All teachers will receive at least one observation in the first semester and one observation in the second semester. * Evaluators will conduct at least two classroom walk-throughs of no less than (10) ten minutes. The teacher will receive feedback on the Walkthrough Form (Addendum H). The teacher will receive feedback on the Walkthrough Form within three (3) working days. * Formal evaluations conducted under this provision must be conducted and completed by the first day of May, and the teacher shall be provided with an electronic copy of the evaluation results by the tenth day of May.
Continuing Contract Employees. The evaluation process thus far outlined above having been completed, a continuing contract employee whose work is judged unsatisfactory, based on the evaluation criteria contained herein, may be placed on probation in accordance with the "procedure for probation" outlined below.
