Work on Holidays. A Unit Member who is authorized to work on any day recognized as a holiday designated by this Agreement shall be provided with a substitute holiday within five (5) working days prior to, or after, the designated holiday. If the Immediate Management Supervisor is unable to schedule a substitute holiday due to the operational needs of the department, the Unit Member shall be entitled to overtime compensation in accordance with the provisions of section 10.6.
Work on Holidays. General employees who are required to work on any of the aforementioned holidays, or days observed in lieu of those holidays, shall receive regular pay and will have the choice of receiving overtime pay at time and one- half or with approval of the Department Head accrue compensatory time off at the rate of straight time for hours worked, if used within the same pay period as earned. If an employee who works on a holiday is deemed to work in excess of the 40-hour work week, then he/she shall instead be entitled to overtime compensation as defined in Article 18.
Work on Holidays. Any regular, full-time or less than full-time employee assigned an eighty (80) hour biweekly work period who is required to work on a paid assigned holiday shall receive credit for the time actually worked. Any such employee whose regularly scheduled day off falls on a paid, assigned holiday, shall be credited with annual leave hours equivalent to the number of hours usually scheduled for on that day but credit shall in no case exceed 12 hours.

Related to Work on Holidays

  • NERC Holidays means a holiday as defined by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation or any successor thereto.

  • Normal Working Hours means between the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, inclusive. Saturdays, Sundays, and County holidays are excluded.

  • Core Hours means the period beginning at 8am and ending at 6.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday except Good Friday, Christmas Day or bank holidays;
