Days Observed. The days listed below will be observed as paid holidays (at the regular daily pay earned) if they fall within the employee's regular Monday through Friday work week during the employee's work year and on a day when the employee would otherwise be required to work. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday during the regular school term, and students are not required to attend school because of the holiday on either the preceding Friday or subsequent Monday, then such Friday or Monday shall be a paid holiday. The exception to this is the Independence Day holiday that shall be observed as a paid holiday on the preceding Friday or the subsequent Monday if this holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Days Observed. A. The following and any other days which the Authority may declare are holidays. They shall be granted with pay to all eligible employees scheduled to work on such days.
Days Observed a. Non-Shift Workers For non-shift workers, when a holiday falls on Saturday, the Friday prior thereto shall be considered the holiday, and when a holiday falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered the holiday. If either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the provisions in the City of Jacksonville Ordinance Code shall apply. For those workers on a four (4), ten (10) hour day workweek, when a holiday falls on a normal day off, the workday closest to the holiday shall be considered the holiday. When a holiday falls on a normal day off that is midway between workdays, the next scheduled workday will be the holiday.

Christmas Day and Good Friday will be the only day that the business will not be open. Where Australia Day or ANZAC Day fall on a weekend, no substitute holiday will be observed.
