Union Introduction. The Employer shall acquaint new employees with the fact that a collective agreement is in effect and provide them with the PEI UPSE contact information.
Union Introduction. The Company agrees that when a new employee is hired, the employee will be introduced to his/her on shift Union Representative. The Union will be allowed twenty (20) minutes if needed or requested.

The parties recommend that the employer give the local salaried employee party the opportunity to participate in the introduction of newly hired personnel in an appropriate manner. In the event of disputes regarding this matter, each new salaried employee is entitled to one hour’s information from the local salaried employee party during paid working time.

Union Introduction. Union stewards will give a specific training about the union to all new employees (including employees not in bargaining unit positions) within the first ninety (90) days of employment.

After the new employee has been briefed by the Employer, the new employee shall have the opportunity, if they desire, to meet with a Union representative prior to completion of the orientation. The purpose of this meeting shall be limited to discussion of the labor contract and statutory representation rights. No internal union business, to include recruiting, shall be conducted. The meeting will take place on official time. If the new employee elects not to meet with a Union representative it will be noted on the checklist.
