Unexcused Absence. Although the effect of absence of teaching and/or research faculty members is difficult to measure, unauthorized or unjustified absence from class, research, counseling activities or other scheduled duties in excess of five (5) consecutive scheduled or regular work days is sufficient basis for withholding salary for the work days absent pending investigation and/or an acceptable explanation of the circumstances of the absence.
Unexcused Absence. Absence of an employee from duty including any absence for a single day or part of a day, which is not authorized by specific grant or leave of absence, or the use of a leave of absence for reasons other than for which it was approved, shall be deemed an unexcused absence without pay and subject to disciplinary action including discharge.
Unexcused Absence. Truancy is an unexcused absence. Ordinary medical, optical and dental appointments should be scheduled outside of school hours. Parents are advised that family trips, non-school sponsored sports events, vacations and non-school activities should be scheduled outside of school hours. The consequence for the student is as follows:
Unexcused Absence. 1. An unscheduled absence where approval for the absence was not provided by the supervisor and is not the result of: (a) employee’s own illness; (b) the illness of a dependent child; or (c) an emergency, or
Unexcused Absence. An unexcused absence is defined as any time an employee covered by this Agreement misses work without prior written approval or the employee covered by this Agreement fails to notify the manager at least two (2) hours prior to the starting time of the work shift.
Unexcused Absence. Unless an absence is due to holiday or paid absence entitlement, as provided in this Agreement or due to other authorized leaves under this Article X, then it shall be considered an unexcused absence. Employees will be subject to progressive discipline (written warning, written reprimand, discharge) for such unexcused absences. Unpaid time may not be used to avoid discipline.
Unexcused Absence. An unexcused absence for consecutive scheduled work time shall be considered a single occurrence for purposes of corrective action. An “occurrence” will not be charged to an employee for an absence for the following leaves, providing the employee receives advance approval in accordance with departmental policy:

Unexcused Absence. An absence wherein an employee fails to call in within the proper guidelines, has no acceptable written documentation, and does not provide an acceptable excuse to his supervisor is considered an unexcused absence.
Unexcused Absence. It is an unexcused absence for an employee to be absent from work and fail to notify her or his supervisor prior to the beginning of her or his scheduled shift. This is considered a “no call – no show” and results in an automatic written warning. Three points are given.
