TUITION REIMBURSEMENT, CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The District shall pay the full cost of tuition for all graduate courses, including on-line courses, taken by the Assistant Superintendent at an accredited institution not to exceed twelve (12) credits per year, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Board and Assistant Superintendent. The District shall make such payment to the Assistant Superintendent upon her completion of each graduate course when she submits grade verification demonstrating a passing grade or higher to the Superintendent. If the Assistant Superintendent should voluntarily terminate this Contract prior to the expiration of the Term of this Contract, all tuition reimbursement paid by the District during the Term of this Contract would be repaid by the Assistant Superintendent to the District unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the Board and the Assistant Superintendent. Provided however, in the event the Assistant Superintendent’s voluntary termination prior to the expiration of this Contract is due to her serious medical illness or her death or due to the serious medical illness or death of her spouse or her eligible dependents, the repayment obligation shall be waived by the District and Assistant Superintendent shall not be required to repay any tuition reimbursement she received from the District. The District shall pay the full enrollment cost and/or tuition and fees for all professional development courses and continuing education courses taken by the Assistant Superintendent during this Contract.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT, CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The District shall pay the full cost of tuition and associated fees and books for all graduate courses, including on-line courses, taken by the District Superintendent at an accredited institution, up to a maximum of twelve (12) credits per year. The District shall make such payment to the District Superintendent upon his registration for each graduate course, when he submits the tuition bill to the District’s business manager; provided that such courses are subject to repayment by the District Superintendent for any course in which the District Superintendent fails to receive a final passing grade. The District shall pay the full enrollment cost and/or tuition and fees for all professional development courses and continuing education courses taken by the District Superintendent during this Contract.

  • Professional Development Reimbursement Management will provide reimbursement for approved professional development expenses for Lieutenants and Sergeants. Funds may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing Lieutenants and Sergeants for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities. Management must approve of the specific professional development request in advance. Denial will require written notification to the requesting Lieutenant or Sergeant.

  • Education Reimbursement The County will provide education reimbursement for education costs incurred by regular employees who apply for such reimbursement in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the education reimbursement program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $1,500 per year.

  • Continuing Professional Development The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training for staff performing official controls, enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls in a consistent manner, as per legislative requirements. The Official Agency shall identify training needs for staff performing official controls and ensure that staff carrying out official controls are kept up to date in their area of competence and develop specialised expertise, in partnership with the Authority and other Local Authorities. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. The Authority will provide e-learning resources and training for official control staff so as to promote a consistent understanding and application of new legislation, guidance or procedures, as appropriate. The Official Agency shall support participants in using e-learning resources, disseminating knowledge or skills acquired and encourage the application of learning gained through the Authority’s training in official control activities. The Official Agency shall ensure that contractors used in the performance of the Service Contract provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development and Compliance with this section. Where staff from the Official Agency need to travel outside the Official Agency functional area to attend training courses/meetings, this shall be facilitated by the Official Agency. The Official Agency in partnership with the Authority shall develop and implement training programmes for all staff engaged in the performance of the Service Contract. Where staff have participated in Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) the training content shall be disseminated to relevant staff/contractors in the Official Agency and other local authorities in partnership with the Authority.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board agrees to implement the following:

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Continuing Education 24.01 The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Training and Professional Development C. Maintain written program procedures covering these six (6) core activities. All procedures shall be consistent with the requirements of this Contract.

  • Educational Reimbursement SECTION 1. The purpose of this Article is to xxxxxx a learning environment and provide educational opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the employees and the County and will encourage eligible employees to participate in education programs which will further their skills and knowledge for use in their current position or for use in a possible future position of greater responsibility. The Educational Reimbursement Program shall be a plan as provided for in Section 127 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) and shall be construed consistently with the requirements of Section 127. Amounts paid for tuition reimbursement meeting the requirements of Section 127 of the IRS Tax Code are not included in an Employee’s income or subject to income tax withholding up to a maximum of $5,250 annually. If subsequent tax law changes fail to continue the tax-free treatment, or in any way modify its treatment, appropriate adjustments in tax withholding will be made from the effective date of the change. This Article does not apply to training seminars, conferences, workshops, etc.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.
