Travel Time Compensation. When an employee is required by the employer to travel during his or her free time in accordance with the working hours scheme, the time spent travelling will be compensated for with basic salary not exceeding eight hours for a work- ing day and 16 hours for a day off. Travel time shall be calculated in full 30-min- ute periods. Travel time is not considered working hours. This benefit can also be implemented by concluding a local agreement on separate, fixed monthly compensation. If the employer pays for the employee’s sleeping berth on board a transport vehicle, no compensation for travel time payment shall be made for the hours between 9 pm and 7 am. In the calculation of the fulfilment of regular working hours as a basis for weekly overtime, the hours spent travelling shall also be taken into account, up to the maximum daily regular working hours in accordance with the working hours scheme for travel days on which regular working hours are not otherwise ful- filled. Travel Time Compensation. Those instructors who are traveling and conducting classes away from the base campus, outside their basic work week, will be paid for their travel time based upon a rate of $8.00 per hour. Time allocated for travel from base campus to branch campus is as follows: Zone 1 1 hour round trip (10-25 mile radius -- Xxxxxxx, Mosinee, Marathon) Zone 2 1 ½ hour round trip (26-40 mile radius -- Antigo and Stratford) Zone 3 2 hour round trip (41-55 mile radius -- Medford) Zone 4 3 hour round trip (56-70 mile radius) Zone 5 3 ½ hour round trip (71-85 mile radius -- Prentice and Xxxxxxxx) Zone 6 4 hours round trip (Park Falls) Instructors will also be paid the IRS standard mileage rate for conducting these classes away from the main campus, as well as room and board when it falls within the job assignment. Mileage will be computed on a school-to-school basis. Notwithstanding the above, no reimbursement shall be made for miles not actually traveled. If a change in the IRS standard mileage rate occurs during the term of the contract, then the change in rate will occur on the effective date. However, if the new rate has an effective date that is retroactive, then the new rate will be effective on the date the rate is approved with no retroactivity. When a change occurs in the IRS standard mileage rate, the Business Office will notify faculty as soon as possible of the new rate.
