Day Shift definition

Day Shift means a shift which commences at or after 6.00 am and before 10.00 am. "Afternoon shift" means a shift which commences at or after 10.00 am and before 4.00 pm.
Day Shift means a shift starting at or after 6am and finishing at or before 6pm.
Day Shift means a shift in which the major portion occurs between 0730 and 1530 hours. DEMOTION means a change from an employee’s position to one with a lower maximum salary level.

Examples of Day Shift in a sentence

  • Employees working on other than the recognized Day Shift shall receive a premium rate of fifty cents per hour.

  • No Shop Day Shift employee shall start work earlier than 7: 00 a.m. nor end work later than 4: 00 p.m. unless specifically authorized to work overtime.

  • Shop Day Shift lunch must be at least one-half hour duration and taken between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Lunches longer than 30 minutes must be taken in 15 minute increments (i.e. 45 minutes, 1 hour, etc.).

  • Accumulated work time for each employee shall equal at least 7 hours each day for Shop Second Shift and 7- 1/2 hours each day for Shop Day Shift and the Administrative Office.

  • The first shift which may vary in individual operations is the recognized Day Shift.
