Staffing/Workload Concerns. The Union and the Employer acknowledge that together the parties endeavor to provide a level of staffing consistent with safe working conditions and the service the parties provide to the community. The parties are committed to the proposition that adequate staffing is necessary to meet departmental needs and to provide quality services. Employee(s) who work in areas that are not nursing care units and who have concerns about staffing or workloads are encouraged to address the issues directly with their manager. Many staffing/workload issues, if addressed with the manager at the time of occurrence, can be resolved through adjustment in assignments or through the use of other staffing resources. The employee(s) involved in the staffing concern may request the issue be presented to the Labor/Management Committee when:

Staffing/Workload Concerns. The Union and the Employer acknowledge that together the parties endeavor to provide a level of staffing consistent with safe working conditions and the service the parties provide to the community. The parties are committed to the proposition that adequate staffing is necessary to meet the needs of our departments and to provide quality services. Employee(s) who work in areas that are not nursing care units and who have concerns about staffing or workloads are encouraged to address the issues directly with their manager. Many staffing/workload issues, if addressed with the manager at the time of occurrence, can be resolved through adjustment in assignments or through the use of other staffing resources. The employee(s) involved in the staffing concern may request the issue be presented to the Labor/Management Committee when: The manager has not responded to a documented concern within fourteen (14) days; or Persistent staffing concerns (e.g., lasting 6 weeks) continue to exist and have been documented, with the documentation given to the manager involved. The parties recognize the final decision on staffing/workload issues rest with the Employer whose responsibility it is to ensure that an appropriate level of service is provided. The determination of staffing/workload shall not be subject to grievance and arbitration, nor shall employees be subject to disciplinary action for utilizing this process.

  • Staffing Concerns Nurses, individually or as a group, believing there is an immediate workload/staffing problem should bring that problem to the attention of the supervisor or Nurse Manager as soon as the problem is identified. Nurses believing there is a continuous or potential workload/staffing problem, which may include the ability to receive rest periods and lunch breaks, should attempt to resolve the problem in discussions at the work unit level. Continuous or potential workload/staffing problems discussed at the work unit level that have not been resolved may be raised through the Joint Conference Committee. The Joint Conference Committee may determine that a unit- based work team would best address the workload/staffing problem raised. If the Joint Conference Committee makes that determination, a sub-committee consisting of an appropriate number of staff nurses who are from the unit and shift(s) experiencing the workload/staffing problem (appropriate number of staff nurses to be determined by the Joint Conference Committee), a WSNA representative and appropriate management staff will meet to discuss the problem raised. The sub-committee(s) shall report its results back to the Joint Conference Committee.

  • Innovative Scheduling Schedules which are inconsistent with the Collective Agreement provisions may be developed in order to improve quality of working life, support continuity of resident care, ensure adequate staffing resources, and support cost-efficiency. The parties agree that such innovative schedules may be determined locally by the Home and the Union subject to the following principles:

  • Network Congestion Reduced Speed for Routing or Answering 911 Dialing Calls. There may be a greater possibility of network congestion and/or reduced speed in the routing of a 911 Dialing call made utilizing the Service as compared to traditional 911 dialing over traditional public telephone networks.

  • Faculty Workload The workload of faculty includes student advising, maintaining and improving expertise in a discipline and in pedagogy, serving on departmental and university committees, contributing to student growth and development, evaluating student performance, scholarly activities, and service to university and community, as well as teaching and class preparation. Additionally, as a professional, a faculty member shall devote a substantial amount of his/her workload to course preparation, research, the maintenance of professional expertise, innovations in teaching/learning and other similar activities. These endeavors shall comprise the faculty member’s workload.

  • Commencement of Interconnection Activities If the Developer executes the final LGIA, the ISO, Connecting Transmission Owner and the Developer shall perform their respective obligations in accordance with the terms of the LGIA, subject to modification by FERC. Upon submission of an unexecuted LGIA in accordance with Section 30.11.3, the Parties shall promptly comply with the unexecuted LGIA, subject to modification by FERC.

  • Staffing Consultant will designate in writing to Authority its representative, and the manner in which it will provide staff support for the project, which must be approved by Authority. Consultant must notify Authority’s Contract Representative of any change in personnel assigned to perform work under this Contract, and the Authority’s Contract Representative has the right to reject the person or persons assigned to fill the position or positions. The Authority’s Contract Representative shall also have the right to require the removal of the Consultant’s previously assigned personnel, including Consultant’s representative, provided sufficient cause for such removal exists. The criteria for requesting removal of an individual will be based on, but not limited to, the following: technical incompetence, inability to meet the position’s qualifications, failure to perform, poor attendance, ethics violation, unsafe work habits, or damage to Authority or other property. Upon notice for removal, Consultant shall replace such personnel with personnel substantially equal in ability and qualifications for the positions and shall submit the proposed replacement personnel qualification and abilities to the Authority, in writing, for approval.

  • Service Level Expectations Without limiting any other requirements of the Agreement, the Service Provider shall meet or exceed the following standards, policies, and guidelines:

  • Workloads (a) The parties agree that patient care is enhanced if concerns relating to professional practice, patient acuity, fluctuating Work-Loads and fluctuating staffing are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

  • Self Scheduling The Home and the Union may agree to implement a self-scheduling process. Self-scheduling is the mechanism by which employees in a Home create their own work schedules. The purpose of self scheduling is to improve job satisfaction and quality of work life for the participating employees. Self scheduling requires a collaboration of employees and management to ensure proper coverage of the Home and to meet the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It is agreed that self scheduling will be negotiated locally by the Home and the Union and will include a trial period. Each Home must have the majority agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to agree on a trial period of up to six months. Once the trial period is complete, each Home must have a minimum of 66⅔% agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to continue with the new schedule on a permanent basis.

  • Project Staffing Prior to the start of any work under this Agreement, Consultant must submit to City detailed resumes of key personnel that will be involved in performing services prescribed in the Agreement. City hereby acknowledges its acceptance of such personnel to perform services under this Agreement. At any time hereafter that Consultant desires to change key personnel while performing under the Agreement, Consultant must submit the qualifications of the new personnel to City for prior approval. Key personnel include, but are not limited to, principals-in-charge, project manager, and project Consultant. Consultant will maintain an adequate and competent staff of qualified persons, as may be determined by City, throughout the performance of this Agreement to ensure acceptable and timely completion of the Scope of Services. If City objects, with reasonable cause, to any of Consultant’s staff, Consultant must take prompt corrective action acceptable to City and, if required, remove such personnel from the Project and replace with new personnel agreed to by City.
