Request for Vacation Time. The Department Director/Manager or supervisor must approve vacation requests. Vacation will be scheduled in such a manner as to provide adequate core staffing per unit and shift. In the event of an emergency arising in staffing levels, the Employer reserves the right to rescind approved Vacation Time off and negotiate other time off with the nurse. Volunteers will be considered first. If there are no volunteers, nurses taking time off without pay will have that time off rescinded by seniority beginning with the least senior nurse first. After that, nurses taking vacation time off with pay will have that time off rescinded by seniority, beginning with the least senior nurse first. Vacation Time may be taken in increments of one-half (1/2) hour or more not to exceed the nurse’s regular scheduled day. Nurses who have previously approved vacation which is rescinded by the Employer that involves travel costs shall be reimbursed the amount of money, if any, forfeited due to cancellation of the vacation. Any such claims for reimbursement must be substantiated by receipts and verification. Payment shall be grossed up for taxes using standard computation.

Request for Vacation Time. Request for vacation shall be submitted at least two weeks prior to use of vacation time. Vacations shall not be granted in less than an eight hour block of time. However, vacation may be taken, with district approval, in a four hour block (half day) if coverage for that period of time is not required or a substitute can be obtained. The custodian will submit the online request routed to the Director of Buildings and Grounds for approval. At the point of receiving the notification of the online request, the Director of Buildings and Grounds will approve or disapprove within 5 days of receiving this notification. If an employee has not received an online system response to the vacation request in writing within five days of submitting the request, the request will be deemed to have been granted and the employee will be allowed to take the requested time as vacation. If the Director of Buildings and Grounds is not available within this two week period, the requests will need to be forwarded to a designee approved by the Director of Buildings and Grounds. The district will provide computer training for vacation requests for all custodians who request it.
Request for Vacation Time off outside March School Break and Summer Months will be considered by the Employer on a first-come/first served basis.

  • Request for Leave At any time, employees may request the use of short-term leave (annual leave, compensatory time use, or personal leave). Such request shall be submitted on the appropriate form and approved or denied on the form within one week of submission to the appropriate authority (practices of shorter time periods will be maintained) except that current practices concerning emergency leave requests shall be maintained. Requests will not be denied unreasonably. The issue of more employees requesting the use of short-term leave than can be granted because of operational needs shall be resolved at the LMC. The Employer shall not request the reasons for the use of earned leave other than sick leave as permitted by Article 12. All leave may be used in tenth of an hour increments provided, however that use of personal leave to cover tardiness related absences shall not serve as a bar or defense to disciplinary action.

  • Vacation and Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to vacation and paid time off in accordance with the standard policies of the Company for executives as in effect from time to time.

  • Notice of Separation When an employee’s resignation is presumed in accordance with Section 27.2 above, the Employer will separate the employee by sending a separation notice to the employee by certified mail to the last known address of the employee. Such notice will include information regarding eligibility for continuation of medical benefits.

  • Scheduling of Vacation Leave In scheduling vacation leave with pay for an employee the Employer shall, subject to the operational requirements of the service, make every reasonable effort to comply with the employee's wishes.
