Workshops Staff Development. The school district will pay for all reasonable employee expenses to employees who are required by the school district to attend workshops, schools or meetings to maintain the necessary skills for the employee’s position. Attendance at meetings, conventions, and workshops related to the employee’s position will be granted without loss of pay provided that the time for attendance is approved in advance by the employee’s Principal or Director. Any employee may be given the option to attend a workshop of the employee’s choosing for self-improvement subject to the building principal’s or the appropriate director’s approval. The District will provide one half (1/2) day paid staff development training on the first grading day of the school year which is considered a normal work day.
