Leave Cancellation. No leaves will be subject to cancellation (Compensatory Time, Vacation, Holiday, Personal or Wellness) except in emergency situations as determined by the Sheriff or his designee, e.g., need for manpower because of weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Leave Cancellation. A teacher who has made previous arrangements for sick leave, personal leave, or any other leave for which a substitute must be hired and then school was not in session will not be charged leave providing a substitute was not paid.

Leave Cancellation. When a BU employee is required by the EMPLOYER to cancel previously approved leave and incurs a financial loss from the cancellation of travel plans, the BU employee has the right to invoke the grievance procedure to seek restitution of costs in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations or rules. BU employees are responsible for taking necessary actions to mitigate financial loss.
