Curriculum Projects. It is the expressed intent of the Board and the AFT to involve a maximum number of faculty in the planning and development of innovative and exemplary programs, techniques, and materials, especially as they relate to the improvement of instruction. Accordingly, the District shall budget an amount of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for each instructional year of this Agreement to be used for faculty-initiated curriculum projects. In addition, the District shall budget an amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for each instructional year of this Agreement to be used for curriculum projects initiated by part-time faculty and for part-time-faculty professional development. Such funds shall be administered by the Curriculum Grants Committee.
Curriculum Projects. Many unit members have ideas concerning the revision and reformulation of curriculum based upon their experience and background, which can provide direct benefit to the Stamford School System or other school systems. Such projects can be experimental in nature and need not be directly initiated by a unit member on behalf of his/her department.
Curriculum Projects. 8.1.1 A member or members may submit applications for curriculum study and revision projects.
8.1.2 Applications shall identify specific intents and goals on the project, the curriculum area under study, the member or members to be involved, the length of time required for the project and any other information which may be required to evaluate the necessity and value of the project.
8.1.3 Such application shall be submitted through Department Chairpersons and Elementary Core Curriculum Leaders and/or Building Principals to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction who shall forward the application with recommendations to the Superintendent.
8.1.4 The District shall hold final authority to approve or disapprove such projects.
8.1.5 Written results of such projects shall be submitted to the District for a decision as to approval or disapproval.
8.1.6 Members involved in approved curriculum projects shall be compensated at the rate of $27.44 (2014-16) and $27.85 (2016-17) per hour.
Curriculum Projects. 1. All projects carry a daily stipend of $150 for a six-hour day. For Example, an 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. workday with an hour for lunch. Curriculum writers will submit the proper paperwork to receive compensation.
2. The curriculum projects covered by this sum will be aligned to District goals or mutually agreed upon initiatives and will be submitted to the Superintendent for approval. The writer(s) may be required to meet with the Superintendent to discuss their approval.
3. Although the project has been approved for writing, it has not been presented to or recommended to the Board of Education for approval and/or implementation. Therefore, if the intent is to implement the curriculum writing project, please meet with your building principal. Upon approval from the building principal, your project may be implemented. If additional approval is necessary, the Building Principal will forward your project to the Superintendent for possible recommendation to the Board of Education.
Curriculum Projects. The Program Directors, after soliciting suggestions from the faculty shall develop and refine curriculum research programs for which funding is available. The curriculum projects shall be posted at all sites inviting applications from unit members interested in working on such projects. Directors shall use their best efforts to select participants for such projects from among such applicants whose jobs are most impacted by the projects.
Curriculum Projects. From time to time, the administration may wish to invite individual teachers or groups of teachers to produce a curriculum guide or other document related to the instructional program. In such instances, the Superintendent or his/her designee will provide written notification of the availability of such work, including:
1. a description of the document to be produced, 2. the date by which the project is to be completed, and
Curriculum Projects. The Board may hire staff to write and/or revise curriculum at a “per project” fee on a voluntary participation basis. Anyone covered by this Agreement, except facilitators functioning in that role, if called upon to make more than one presentation in a given year at Public Board Meetings, shall be paid $55 for each subsequent presentation.
