College Closings. When classes are canceled by the college due to inclement weather, television stations WFSB-TV3, WWLP-TV 22, WVIT- NBC 30, WGGB-ABC TV 40 will carry the announcements. The college radio station, WACC, 107.7 FM will also announce cancellations. The primary means of determining the status of classes is our number that has weather-related recorded messages 000-000-0000. Select option 2 from the main menu to hear the current message. College Closings. A. If classes are cancelled for weather related reasons, this same policy shall also apply to employees. All personnel who are required to work on a day when classes are cancelled for weather related reasons will receive their regular day’s pay and in addition will receive straight time for all hours worked. Employees who are not required to work on a day when classes are cancelled due to weather will receive their regular day’s pay. When classes are cancelled due to other reasons, employees will work their regular hours for their regular pay.
College Closings. A. It is understood that the College has the right to close the institution at any time. The College shall advise the Association of its intention to close at least one (1) month in advance, except in cases of emergency. The College may require the use of vacation time or personal days by those employees who wish to be paid for up to ten (10) closing days per year.
College Closings. Nothing in this agreement shall require the employer to keep offices/buildings open in the event of inclement weather or when otherwise prevented by an act of God or any event that causes the closing of the college. The method of notification of college closing is not subject to the grievance procedure.

College employees who work for an externally funded program which deals with or directly serves County and/or Social Service Agencies and whose inclement weather work day schedule differs from that of the College will be bound by the inclement weather work day schedule of the County or Social Service Agency they serve.

  • School Closings In the event of any school closing, employees will report for duty only if so requested by an appropriate supervisor. Employees requested to report for duty will be compensated by receiving an alternative day off agreed upon with their supervisor. Employees not requested to report would be paid for up to five (5) days of school closing or such days will be made up if all other employees are required to make up such days.
