Category Seniority. “Category seniority” shall be defined as length of service in a given job category, including periods while on an unpaid leave of absence within the Transportation Unit. Category seniority may accrue in one of four job categories: Bus Mechanic, Bus Driver, Bus Monitor, Bus Xxxxxx; however, seniority may accrue in only one category at a time.

Category Seniority. Being length of service with the Company in a specified category of Officer, i.e.: Master, Mate, Chief Engineer and Second (2nd)
Category Seniority. Being length of service with the Company in a specified category of Employee, i.e.: Master, Mate, Chief Engineer, Second Engineer and Cook/Deckhand. Any documented time served as an Officer will be recognized and credited to the Officer upon permanent promotion. Such time credited must be at least thirty (30) days or more in a calendar year.
Category Seniority. The term “category seniority” shall be defined as the length of service within a given job category, including periods while on an unpaid leave of absence, commencing with the first day of work within the job category provided that continuous service within the bargaining unit has not been broken. An employee may hold seniority in more than one (1) job category, but may accumulate seniority in only one (1) job category at a time. If two (2) or more employees have the same length of service within a given job category, the employee with the greatest unit seniority shall be considered senior. Category seniority shall not be interrupted by a layoff, but shall not accumulate during the period(s) of layoff.

  • Seniority Rosters Quarterly, the Employer shall prepare a roster of all bargaining unit employees in an institution, geographic jurisdiction or Agency as appropriate. The roster will list employees in descending order of State seniority credits and will contain each employee’s name, State seniority credits, and Institutional seniority credits if applicable. Seniority rosters will be provided to the Chapter President or Assembly President and posted in the work areas of affected employees. Where available, the Employer may provide an electronic posting of the roster in lieu of a paper roster. Each employee’s individual employee seniority credits will be displayed on the employee’s earnings statement.
