Approved Leave Callback. An approved leave callback is a recall to duty of an employee for any reason once leave has been approved and the affected employee has incurred expenses in planning for the same. Approved leave includes: vacation, bereavement leave or compensatory time off, as listed on the employee’s leave request. Employees wishing to be unavailable on regularly scheduled days off, immediately preceding or following their requested time off must indicate such on their leave request for this provision to apply. Hours worked during the approved leave period shall be compensated at twice the hourly rate upon reporting for duty, and the affected employee shall be reimbursed for round trip transportation costs involved in returning for duty or any other non-refundable expenses incurred. Reimbursement for travel shall be made on the same basis as the original mode of transportation. If applicable, mileage shall be paid at the approved City rate. Vacation approval or other leave requests shall not unreasonably be withheld to frustrate the intent of this section. Employees shall be credited with the number of vacation hours lost. Employee will confirm the callback with the City prior to making any travel arrangements for a return trip. If an employee voluntarily chooses to come back to work, this provision does not apply.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave.   • Catastrophic Leave Program Leave credits, as defined below, may be transferred from one or more employees to another employee, on an hour-for-hour basis, in accordance with departmental policies upon the request of both the receiving employee and the transferring employee and upon approval of the employee's appointing authority, under the following conditions:

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Annual Leave Loading (a) In addition to their ordinary pay, an employee, other than a shiftworker, will be paid an annual leave loading of 17.5% of their ordinary pay on a maximum of 152 hours/four weeks annual leave per annum.

  • Prepaid Leave Plan The Employer agrees to introduce a prepaid leave program, funded solely by the nurse, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Callback from Vacation (a) Employees who have commenced their annual vacation shall not be called back to work, except in cases of extreme emergency.

  • EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE 1. Military leave without pay shall be granted to any employee who is inducted in any branch of the armed forces of the United States for the period of said service.

  • Sick Leave Verification The Employer will not require verification for absences of less than 3 consecutive work days. Such verification or proof may be given to the supervisor/manager or Human Resources according to departmental policy. The Employer will not make unreasonable requests for sick leave verification.
