Absence for Union Representatives. Employees who are representatives of the Local on the various Union committees or are Union Stewards shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their places of employment temporarily in order to meet with the Employer concerning the processing or resolution of grievances. Employees must apply for, and receive permission from the Employer, prior to leaving their places of employment for such purposes.

Leave of Absence Union Functions Operational requirements permitting, leave of absence without pay will be granted, upon request, to employees elected to represent the Local Union at Union functions. Such leave shall not exceed a total of thirty (30) days per year for any individual employee. No more than two (2) employees may leave at any one time. No more than one (Ie)mployee will be given leave from one (1) department at any one time. Where possible, applications for such leave must be received by the Employer not less than two (2) weeks in advance of the date of of the leave.
