UNION COMMITTEES. Union Committees as provided for in this Agreement, will be of a size that will not unduly curtail production.
UNION COMMITTEES. ‌ 7.01 Employees on any of the Committees listed herein shall suffer no loss of wages when meeting with the Employer during their regular working hours. This includes time spent at arbitration, conciliation and mediation. 7.02 At all meetings with the Employer, the Committees may be accompanied by a Representative of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. 7.03 The Employer shall recognize a Union Negotiating Committee consisting of the President and six (6) employees. These employees shall suffer no loss of wages when meeting with the Employer during the employee’s scheduled working hours to negotiate a renewal to this Agreement subject to the terms of Article 7.01. 7.04 The Union shall advise the Head of the Human Resources Department, in writing, of the names of its members for each of the following Committees before the Employer shall be required to recognize them: • Negotiation Committee • Grievance Committee • Joint Union-Management Committee 7.05 The Employer shall recognize a Union Grievance Committee consisting of the following: Step 1 – Two employees Step 2 – Two employees Step 3 – Four employees The parties agree that the grievor shall have the right to be in attendance at all grievance hearings and shall be included within the above number of employees. It is further agreed that the grievance proceedings will not be adjourned because the grievor has exercised his or her right not to be in attendance. 7.06 Members of these Committees shall not leave their regular duties without authorization from their Supervisor. Such authorization shall not be unreasonably withheld. 7.07 At any arbitration hearing held between the parties, the Employer shall not make any pay deduction from a maximum of four (4) employees who are members of the Union, for the time spent at any arbitration hearing. It is understood however, that the Union shall notify the Employer, prior to the date of the hearing, the names of such employees. 7.08 The parties agree to establish a Joint Union-Management Committee comprised of equal representation, to exchange views on matters which effect employees, other than negotiations, grievances, or safety committee matters. 7.09 Joint Health and Safety Committees shall be established in accordance with the
UNION COMMITTEES. 11.01 The Home will recognize the following: (a) Two (2) union representatives who shall also comprise the Grievance Committee; (b) A Negotiating Committee of two (2) employees; plus a Labour Relations Officer (LRO). It is understood and agreed that the Labour Relations Officer (LRO) is the signing authority for the Ontario Nurses' Association, and therefore any Agreement reached between the parties is of no force and effect without the agreement and signature of the Labour Relations Officer (LRO). (c) An Union-Management Committee comprised of two (2) employees and an equal number of representatives of the Home. The committee shall meet every two (2) months unless otherwise agreed. The duties of the Chairperson and Secretary shall alternate between the parties. Where possible, agenda items will be exchanged in writing at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting. A record shall be maintained of matters referred to the committee and the recommended disposition, if any, unless agreed to the contrary. Copies of the record shall be provided to the committee. 11.02 The Union will advise the Administrator of the Home or designate of the personnel serving on committees, within thirty (30) days of any change of personnel serving on these committees and the Home shall not be required to recognize any other committees.
UNION COMMITTEES. (a) The Union agrees to supply the Employer with the names of the Union Committee members and will keep the list up to date. (b) The Employer will supply the union office and the Chairperson with a list of Department Heads, supervisors, members of the management committee and other persons with authority. The list will be adjusted as necessary and copies will be submitted to the Union Office and the Chairperson. (c) The Employer agrees to retain the Union Chairperson at work during any layoffs or cutbacks in employment during her term of office, provided there is work available that she is able to perform.
UNION COMMITTEES. 29.01 The Employer will recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of a Staff Representative of the Union and not more than three (3) employees appointed or elected by the Union, all of whom must have completed their probationary periods with the Employer. 29.02 The Employer will recognize a Grievance Committee comprised of a Staff Representative of the Union and not more than two (2) employees appointed or elected by the Union, all of whom must have completed their probationary periods with the Employer. 29.03 The Union shall maintain an up to date list of all employees who have been appointed or elected to official positions as Union Representatives and shall advise the Employer in writing upon request.
UNION COMMITTEES. 3.01 British Airways recognises the right of the Membership to elect a Union Committee in the locations covered by this Agreement mentioned below. 3.01.1 British Airways will recognise and Bargain with the Union Committees on any matters properly arising from time to time during the term of the Agreement and the said Committees will cooperate with British Airways in the administration of this Agreement. 3.02 For the purposes of renegotiating this Collective Agreement the Union will form a Negotiating Committee consisting of the Union Chairperson, one Member from Vancouver and one Member from Calgary. 3.03 It is mutually agreed between the parties hereto that representatives of British Airways and the Union Committees shall meet on the third Wednesday of each month, providing there is business for their joint consideration or at such other times as may be mutually agreed. Necessity for meeting will be indicated by letter seven (7) calendar days in advance of the proposed meeting from either party to the other. The letter shall contain an agenda of the subjects for discussion. 3.04 The Union shall have the right to have International Representatives of the IAM present at any meeting of British Airways Representatives with the Union Committee. 3.05 It is agreed that the Union, within thirty (30) calendar days after the signing of this Agreement, will notify British Airways in writing, of the names of their Committee Members. The Union further agrees to notify British Airways of any changes in their Committees, in writing. 3.06 Union Representatives attending negotiations will attend such meetings on Company time on a straight time basis with no overtime payment to be made. UNION COMMITTEES. The Union may appoint or otherwise select a reasonable number of stewards and a Bargaining Committee of not more than five (5) employees as well as up to three (3) representatives of the Power Workers’ Union. The five (5) employees of the Bargaining Committee will be paid their regular hourly plus applicable burden by the Union for time spent in negotiating a collective agreement during normal working hours. The Union members of the Joint Relationship Committee shall consist of not more than five (5) employees. All committee members, stewards and other employees, except for Bargaining Committee members, meeting Management or Power Workers’ Union members for the purpose of discussing scheduled matters or grievances during working hours will not suffer loss of wages for such meetings of four (4) hours or less. Time spent in such meetings will not count toward the calculation of the maximum one hundred and sixty (160) days absence as described in Article The cost of the time spent with Power Workers’ Union members in such meetings will be recorded and will be shared between the Corporation and the Union on a basis. The Employee Training and Development Committee will consist of two (2) members of the Union and two (2) members of Management for the purpose of addressing issues relating to employee and development. If the Union requires a Union representative to be released from their normal duties to perform Union business, the Union will compensate the Corporation in the following manner. Regular rate of pay plus applicable burden to a maximum of will be reimbursed. If a replacement employee must be paid premium rates to cover the absence of the Union representative, the Union will the Corporation at the applicable overtime rate. Both parties agree that for the efficient operation of the business, matters of interpretation and complaints shall be processed through appropriate Management personnel and Union officers of the bargaining unit. UNION COMMITTEES. For the purpose of negotiations between the parties, the Board shall recognize a Negotiating Committee of up to three (3) members of the Association, plus an outside consultant if desired. Meetings held between the parties for the purpose of negotiating renewals to this collective agreement will be held after normal working hours unless otherwise mutually agreed by the parties. Committee members will suffer no loss in pay or benefits for time spent during normal working hours in such meetings, up to and including conciliation.
