Modified Duty definition

Modified Duty means a temporary assignment of job tasks (not necessarily within his or her normal job classification nor within his or her normal department) which is compatible with an Employee's medical restriction(s) and supports an early return to full duty.
Modified Duty means that one or more essential functions of the Employee's job are changed by the Authority, consistent with the recommendations of the Employee's healthcare provider.
Modified Duty means the assignment of an employee to work with medical restriction of duty either in the employee's regular class or in another class in the fire department during any period in which the fire fighter would otherwise be eligible for injury leave benefits. Unless otherwise specified herein, words used in this Agreement shall have the same meaning as are given them in Section 6-3-1 of the 1971 Code of Ordinances in effect on April, 1983.

Modified Duty means temporary, transitional work within the healthcare provider’s prescribed activities, restrictions, and other recommendations for the employee, which reflects that individual’s functional capacity and/or rehabilitative needs.
